Could somebody give any sort of information on what it means when we have reports that Thompson "struggled" or "had a tough day"?
Was he out of shape?
Hurt?
I did not know there were any contact drills, but maybe i am wrong?

I’m going to go with Kyle Williams.

Apparently Gooden ripped past him for 2 sacks and 1 TFL. One report said Gooden has a very quick first step. The counter to all this is that it's not full pads so it could be very different with full contact.

This is without pads. D line has a slight advantage this way. Hunt even mentioned that in the article saying “take this with a grain of salt”

The offensive linemen don’t have pads on, so everything is to be taken with a grain of salt, but the defensive line was incredibly disruptive late in practice.

DJ Chester is a very good guard, he just is not a center. That wasn’t his fault he was forced into that. Having ten good lineman is a blessing

Heard Thompson got his arse handed to him on three straight plays. He better tighten up. They aren't just going to hand him a starting roll just because he transferred. I hope.

I believe this will be the OL against Clemson but the only position I could see change would be Mubenga beating out Chester or Thompson.
Bo Bordelon will start at RT. Book it.....

Its worth paying attention too but OL drills without pads on is like asking dbs to cover receivers without cleats on. Its a completely different drill, dont mean he wont still get his arse handed to him but i wont get too bothered by it until then...

Thompson has no competition for the RG spot It's Chester or Mubenga at LG is the only real question, which neither gives me a ton of great confidence but if they can at least be average to above average thats serviceable.

He will likely be the backup C, but based on the way he played in the bowl game with very little game experience before that, I wouldn’t be shocked if Echols pushed for reps at Guard if anyone struggles.

The oline is far from “filled”. We have two new starters at T and Adams had a very rough day today.

Some of you guys are unbelievable first day of fall practice no pads everybody adjusting,

The way you guys talk you would think we were already in midseason

the good thing about a bad o line is that the defense can't tell if youre running a screen because they dont get blocked on any play whether they're trying to or not lol.

we've also got guys like Thomas , brown, and Aaron anderson that we can throw quick hitters to. Harlem berry and dhuram are great receivers as well.

you can scheme for a bad o line . especially if you have backs that are best in space and on the edges.
they also ran some tight end screens to sharp that were quick and got good gains.
guys like nic anderson and hill are big bodies that can cat h in traffic and then you have Thomas who's a great screen receiver.

if the line sucks we will still have packages to run.
hilton and brown were burning dudes today as well

Anderson was held out of 7 on 7 because he is in the concussion protocol from the car accident.

It has nothing to do with last season's injury.
