Love it. The athletic department deserves to be rewarded when they make a hire like this and invests in the program. Like Mulkey, Jay Johnson and Will Wade, Kiffin generates a ton of energy. Compare that to Matt McMahon. No juice.

How many tickets are allocated to students?

That will never happen due to proximity of the street and its closure would mean a major disruption to the campus. LSU is maxed out on capacity. In fact, some schools with huge stadiums are contracting in efforts to create more space for fan movement, concessions, rest rooms, etc.

We have 6 season tickets and have been able to relocate over the years as priority points built up and got to a good spot with aisle and chair backs.

Unfortunately was not able to attend any games this year due to my wife going through chemo, but sold them all for face value or better. The appetite to attend was still there even in this disappointing season. Excited about the buzz going forward.

Based on LSU's existing 71,000 season ticket holders, will the school allow 86,000 season ticket holders?

15,000 requests will not necessarily equal 15,000 new season ticket holders. I had requests in for a few years before I was high enough on the list to get tickets. Since they expanded the stadium to 102,000 or so, I do not believe they have sold the entirety of the season ticket allotment.

Also, based on what I have seen on this site, thousands of people must have given up their tickets in the last few years .

They have given up tickets. I have a rich friend with 10 season tickets. He dropped eight after last year. I have friends out of state who buy them to sell them for profit. This year, they took a financial beating. Couldn't give them away. That's why stadium expansion will never occur again. Great seasons do not happen often enough to warrant it.

We live out of state, have 6 and travel in for as many games possible. Couldn't this year because wife going through chemo, but sold all the tickets and at least broke even, including TAF fees. It helps that we sold the FLA and aTm tickets at a premium before the bottom fell out.

I'll admit that one of the things I did like this season is watching the obvious scalpers struggle to sell tickets.

Something they could do is add seatbacks to all the seats in the stadium (not the cheap ones, but the fixed seats like they have in the first 8 rows or so of the uppers). It would probably reduce the overall seating a bit but based on what I see in the stadium, that is not an issue for most games.

To put that in reference, that would fill up almost a full quarter of Vaught Hemingway.

Some fans may have given their season tickets up, but other fans bought them. LSU sold out of season tickets this year.
