He did the same thing the week before against Arkansas with a huge punt return almost at the exact point in the game. People forget LSU was down 14-0 to Arkansas. For some reason everyone who brings up the SECCG doesn’t bring up Arkansas. He also forced 2 fumbles and recovered 1.
Ark: 14-7: TM7 punt return for TD with 3 minutes left in the 2nd to tie the game. Swings momentum, LSU blows Arkansas out.
SECCG: 10-0: TM7 punt return for TD with 5 minutes left in the 2nd. Swings momentum, LSU blows out Georgia.

He is unlike any other player this ol guy has ever seen play.
If I could knew I could watch just one player play, it would be him.

Heisman trophy is supposed to go to the "most outstanding" player in college football. I don't think anyone can legitimately argue that Mathieu was not the most outstanding player in 2011.
