He’s not even close to a million bucks. That’s all recruiting talk. Nobody is giving a qb who has never played a game close to that amount of money. He’s not a recruit and he’s not proven…no way. I’m sure he’s got some deals but won’t sniff a million.

“The beginning of the end”? That’s like saying Hitler’s suicide was the beginning of the end for the Nazis. The beginning of the end was a long time ago. Do you remember Wade recorded saying “Damn strong offer”? Do you remember Billy Canon’s recruitment? College football died decades ago.
Why do you watch it if it died years ago?

Players finally getting legit / transparent piece of the free market pie.
It is going to be a train wreck for college football, but college football was broken IMO. It is transitional to minor NFL league that is managed / branded via universities, with degree opportunities awaiting those who do not make big leagues.

Well I give you that, but he was in the NFL. At Alabama everything he says through the Media is carefully thought out and has some end goal or objective. I don't like the SOB, but I have to give him his due. He runs the Alabama program as well as a top CEO runs a Fortune 500 Company.

Outside of catching lightning in a bottle with a once in a generation Heisman transfer QB and one in a million NFL OC we haven't competed with Alabama in a decade, so what's new?

College football will be ruined by this

I call bullshite. He's speaking to Texas coaches and goes on to say Young hasn't even started a game yet but Bama's brand did that for him. He's absolutely without a doubt playing a recruiting game. And there's a kid out there who say this retweeted all over Twitter today thinking "damn I can be a millionaire before I play my first game if I go to Bama"

You think $1,000,000 is a lot for a QB who hasn't ever started a game at Alabama. Wait until Arch Manning commits to a team. You haven't seen nothing yet.
All I got to say is there are going to be a lot of very jealous Alabama players on that team who may miss a critical block here and there. I wouldn't be surprised in the least.

You vastly underestimate the importance of their own individual performance to these guys (along with Young's emotional intelligence).

How?

You compete with better athletes and coaching and with winning. That never changes. How much do you think Burrow would have made? More than a million.

That is part of his contract from signing up last season

How does this not destroy college ball?
This is basically semi-pro ball at this point.
