When will this board realize that Jay is a good post season coach who does not have consistently good teams. Never won the SEC. Three of his five teams struggling to even make the post season.
He’s not the Nick Saban of baseball. He’s more of a Bruce Bochy,

Aw, our wittle baseball " fans " got their "wittle " feelings hurt so gotta have a villain. Yeah, I am talkikng about the assholes who every year when the basketball team loses the first couple of SEC games smugly remind us how baseball season starts in a few weeks.

So Jay gets no blame at all when the team isn't good and all the credit when the team wins?
Sweet gig.
Sweet gig.

What do coaches do if not teaching how to hit, run bases, not get picked off, throw strikes, not hit batters, how to field their positions, etc etc.
Even he admitted that LSU is playing something very foreign to winning baseball.
Are coaches only supposed to recruit, and make our lineup cards and watch our team play non winning baseball. He is in charge of our coaches and what they are teaching our players or not teaching our players. From what I've seen from the beginning of the season to now, our players have learned nothing, and I see no improvement in a single player...except maybe Braun, which was to be expected from a highly touted freshman. Curiel is our rock and fortunately no one has had any negative impact on his game. He should be higher in the lineup though....that is a no brainer.

Need better scouting on all players. Most of our transfer players are not performing in SEC calibrate level players. CJJ will have to total rebuild our team with players out of elgibility or leave for MLB. At this time, Pearson and Braun will be the only returing fielding players, all others will be gone

You don’t win two titles and then suddenly not know how to coach the very next year after the second one. It’s a combination of several things.
He missed on some portal guys, for one. This is the tough one. He commented after his first CWS title that the timing of the portal makes it diffivult for teams playing late in the season. Your time for talent evaluation is condensed because you’re hyper-focused on your current team. Plus you don’t really know which non-graduating guys will be leaving as soon as other teams do. It’s just a bigger hurdle for teams playing late. It becomes harder to fill hyour holes. We see a similar struggle with Arkansas this season.
The other thing is that there is so much roster turnover now, that teams have a harder time building chemistry. Sone years it works, some years it doesn’t.
Lastly, when things don’t go right over the course of weeks and months, it takes a toll on players, mentally. They continue to doubt themselves more and more. They stop trusting in their teammates ability. It snowballs. And when the pressure is on, those teams collapse. This is why you see more errors in crucial innings/spots, causing crooked number innings.

Jay isn't the guy, we should throw the bank at Vitello, if it means taking all the football NIL money

Go ahead and run off Jay Johnson tiger nation. We are so blessed to have CJJ. We are just young and not experienced in important roles this year. Sad but true.

Jay doesn’t hit, or field. Players just aren’t good
Yeah game day coaching decisions in baseball are not nearly as important as football where strategy can win or lose the game. Other than recruiting and changing the lineup what can a baseball coach do to affect the game?. It’s just the players didn’t get it done. Not the coaches fault.

It seams like after they get here they treat it like they have reached the pinnacle and just enjoy the ride. When enough of them treat it like that you have a team who just depends on everyone else to carry them to Omaha. Now I don’t know who’s going to the zoo in Omaha this yr but if they do looks like they will be paying their own way.

I’m convinced some of these idiots on here thinks the real reason LSU football went 7-5 last season was because of Jay.
