Has Byrd not caught the ball, there would still be 8 seconds left on the clock. It blows my mind that this misconception exists 10 years later

It was a great call. I miss those days.

That's BS, there were 2-3 seconds on the clock when he caught it, there was enough time left we had to kick off.. dumfuk

I was there and had a Barner family sitting in front of me and the man turned around and said, “Your coach is either the biggest idiot or a genius!” I replied “ Well tonight he is a genius, and Tiger Bait!”

I was in a terrible place marriage wise and was with my wife at the game. We were in the student section and Byrd caught the ball. She hugged me for the first time in about 3 months.
We started counseling and have now been married for 22 years. Thank you Jesus, Flynn, and Byrd :)

That was one of the most memorable games that I've ever seen in the Valley. Heck, I even watched it from the best seats that I have ever gotten.
It still amazes me how so many foolish fans don't give Les any credit for fitting in that pass play with time running out. They would have definately had time for the FG even though Flynn took too long getting the play off.

Was probably my favorite moment as an LSU football fan. I attended the 07 title game and winning the championship doesn't amount to the high I felt on that one play. Damn, tiger stadium and lsu football used to be rocking. Byrd was so clutch. Ashame he got injured. I figured he'd have had a long career. He simply didn't drop balls.

The stadium was so loud that night. Amazing game and amazing catch by Byrd.

Winning the NC was awesome...knowing Nick Saban was quietly lurking in the background building a juggernaut of teams to cone curbed my future expectations..many on this board thought Les could go toe to toe with the great Nick after the NC win..so much shite talking on TD was given to bama fans

That shot of Miles on the sideline is probably my favorite Les moment. He starts celebrating before everyone else. It's awesome. I miss the early Lesticles days

There was plenty enough time to throw a pass into the end zone, but Flynn took forever to get the play off.

Was there that night. Remember explicitly yelling "what the f*** are we doing?!" as Flynn took the snap. Will never forget it.

I remember this vividly.
My first son was born the summer of 2007. He was a few months old when I was watching this game. He was laying on a bouncer in front of me and I was sitting down. I remember watching them line up thinking "WTF are they doing! Hurry up and snap the ball!". When Flynn threw the ball and Bryd caught it, I jumped up and as I did my foot hit the baby's bouncer and flipped it over. He was fine before anyone asks.
I'll never forget it.

I say: It reminds me of the time I took a sweetheart to a Tiger homecoming game against Kentucky. She got excited on a play and pushed me down the stairs on the east side. I took a tumble and was pissed about it. On the ride home, she told me she did not want to see me anymore. I asked her why, and she said: "the look in your eye when you came out of that tumble. I never want to see that again."
True story!

Les was beating Saban and had the upper hand over Saban until 2012.
