Must be the language barrier. He’s French, right?
Someone please make this into a sign and bring it to Gameday! That’s awesome
Watch the left tackle on that play (I think it was Hawkins?) He doesn't block a single person  not that he needed to. Leonard was on fire that day!
The brother scenes make the movie. I have an older brother who literally has done the loogie trick on me several times so I relate on a personal level

Judith: Have you ever had a girlfriend?

J.D.: Yes... No!

Judith: Have you ever fantasized about having sex with a man?

J.D.: Which man?

Judith: Any man!

J.D.: You mean like a tall man?

Judith: Sure, whatever!

J.D.: 'Cause I don't like tall people, they bother me!

Judith: What about a short man?

J.D.: How short? Some times people can be too short, that's weird like midgets!

Judith: Have you ever fantasized about having sex with any man, any man at all?

J.D.: Does that include celebrities?
I think he's hit 91 at times (pre-injury), so yes a little harder than Walker. I think Walker sits around 86-88 and Labas will go 89-91 when fully healthy. If he can have the command and stamina that Walker did last year, we could be in business.
I thought the same thing watching him yesterday. He reminded me a lot of Walker, not lighting the radar gun up but having really good command and utilizing his changeup really well. He'll probably have a little more velo on his fastball as he gets healthy but if he's gonna stay around 90 I think the way Walker pitched last year is a great blueprint for him to follow. Mix in three pitches, stay low and on the corners and fill up the strike zone. I think he'll be a solid Sunday guy for us this year once he has enough stamina to go longer innings.
It's an interesting thought. That would definitely give us a strong infield defensively. Knowing now that Smith was playing through that injury last weekend it makes sense now. He definitely didn't look comfortable. Maybe just put Smith at 3rd to ease him back into it after the injury.

I hate seeing Smith go down but I'm excited to see what Hughes can do. We know Mainieri puts an emphasis on defense, especially later in the year. That's why I think he might stay in the lineup for good.

I agree with you for the most part. He has big shoes to fill. Like I said, he just looked tight. Hopefully that's first game jitters. And he was taking grounders after the game so at least we know he has the work ethic to correct mistakes. It would be really easy for him to say "Hey, I sucked in the field tonight but at least I got that homer!"

As for the rest of the infield, it's a work in progress. I'm curious to see if Hughes will get an opportunity to hit today. All reports are that he's very smooth defensively, so he must be struggling offensively to not be in the lineup regularly. Webre made some nice plays at first, but he needs to learn the position and some awareness. That'll come with time. But his bat is as good as advertised. He reminds me a lot of Fraley but maybe with more power. I thought Bryce looked really mediocre at catcher, but he did alright considering he hasn't really caught since high school. But that will work itself out when guys get healthy.

It'll be interesting to see how everything works out once Coomes and Feducia come back. I guess Bryce will DH and Beau will probably pinch hit and play some outfield? We'll see what Paul does with his trademark early season tinkering.

Just a long time lurker, and first time OP. Don't worry, I've been fighting off the negatiger in me for years.

Baseball season couldn't get here quick enough. I'm trying to stay away from anything football related until at least spring practice arrives

Really happy for him to get that HR tonight. He looked visibly stressed out and tight throughout the game. I’m sure he was feeling a lot of pressure being the next shortstop/leadoff guy, and he came through big for us. Hopefully he’ll come out a little more loose tomorrow and play like we all know he’s capable of.

Great opening night! Geaux Tigers!

re: Podcast recommendations?

Sword and Scale is good. If you want a true crime podcast that also has humor, Last Podcast on the Left is good as well. And I second the RadioLab recommendation.
Great win!!! So clutch down the stretch
Very underrated show. I could go for some trash juice right now
I listened to it and found that kind of weird and out of the norm for him. If you listen to last week's calls he was VERY enthusiastic and excited. But for whatever reason he was lethargic this week. Maybe he was just spent from last week

But he's growing on me because I think he's becoming more and more of a fan. Anyways to each their own

That shot of Miles on the sideline is probably my favorite Les moment. He starts celebrating before everyone else. It's awesome. I miss the early Lesticles days
Dang beat me to it

I went through a similar situation when I was in high school, only I was a junior and I have an older brother who was 2 years older than me. My dad got a job before my sophomore year and my brother's senior year, so my dad moved by himself for a year to let my brother graduate. It was tough on my dad being by himself for a year, but like others have said, you make sacrifices. If it's that big of a deal to her I would try to work out something to where you could stay and let her finish.

For me, I had two years to adjust and make friends. It was rough at first, me being an introverted person, but I eventually got used to it and still kept in touch with my friends back home. And I eventually moved back home to go to LSU.

Take it from me, when you're a teenager and you have to move away from your friends, it can be heartbreaking. Senior year means everything to you when you're a kid, even though later in life it won't. So I would just have a discussion with her and if it can't be worked out that she can stay for a year, just be as sympathetic as possible.

Good luck
