Me either. Potentially losing a ton of meaningful innings for younger guys.

Pussification of America

It is acceptable during the SEC Tournament because of time constraints

Didn’t we come back from down 10+ against Vandy or Ole Miss in the past couple years? May not have been 10 but I remember a couple big comebacks late

I don't mind such a rule in the SEC tourney when they play 4 games a day lasting late into the night. But I dislike it as a general rule. Good time to get the backup some work, esp the young pitchers.

Stupid. Scoring 10 runs in 2 innings at the college level is obviously “unlikely”, but very doable. College level pitching and defense is not as consistent or reliable as the pros, so big scoring innings are more common.

If we are losing a ton of innings in SEC play I don’t think we will have much to be upset about. That’s first world problems.

I don’t mind it. It only applies to 5 games last year, 3 which were Sunday games. It only happens 2 times in 2021

I didn't even think it would affect that many SEC games.

This doesn't apply to non-conference games, so the reserves will still have an opportunity to play in blowouts, especially since the roster is limited for SEC games anyway.

I just went and looked at games over 10 run spread, so we could have had those runs after 7. But those were 5 games last year.
2 at Vandy
1 Vs ole Miss
1 vs State
1 at Florida

Will the SEC refund ticket holders for all the innings we miss out on this year??

Screw it. I hope we play in multiple 7 inning games because we are winning by 10.

Looks like 4 games last year would have been called early, all after 8 innings. Didn't think to check who pitched those 9th innings.

5/21 LSU 21 - Vandy 10: Final in 9. Was 18-9 after a 11 run 8th inning.

5/19 LSU 13 - Vandy 2: Final in 9. LSU started the 9th up 11-2

5/14 LSU 1 - Ole Miss 11: 1-11 Final after 8.

5/8 LSU 12 - Bama 3: 12-2 Final after 8.

4/10 LSU 13 - Miss State 3: 13-3 Final after 8.

3/26 LSU 16 - Florida 4: Final in 9. LSU scored 7 in the 9th.

They should play the full 9 but both teams have to play opposite handed for the final 2 innings.

You gonna pay them more money if a game goes to extra innings?

I would bet that LSU will play more extra innings than they will lose innings because of this rule.
