Looking forward to the AP poll today but given the lack of respect do we have a path to a 1 seed even if we win out

If we don’t lose another game before th NCAA tourney there is an outside shot I’d say

If we win out we would be 30-4, SEC regular season and tournament champs, and probably at least 3 combined wins over Tennessee and Kentucky. Seems like there would be a really good chance.

Yeah simple as that. We’d have a shot and certainly be in the discussion if we were 17-1 in the SEC and won the SECt with wins over media darlings UK and Tenn. also would have won something ridiculous like 23 out of 24 games going into March madness

And 1 shot away from 24. Pretty ridiculous. Let’s not count our horses before the fat lady hatches though.

If we win out (regular season and SECT) we're a one seed, it's pretty simple. NCAA committee doesn't use polls.

If that happened LSU would be 30-4 (20-1) with wins @UK, Tenn, @MSU, (probably UK or Tenn again), a perfect 9-0 mark on the road in the SEC and likely a top 6 or so NET if I had to guess. LSU would certainly be a 1 seed, and there's an argument there for #1 overall

Exactly - if we don't lose another game AND beat both Kentucky and Tennessee in the SEC Tourney, I think we get it. But if LSU is the 1 seed in the SEC Tourney, I don't think we'd play both (assuming they'd be the 2 and 3 seeds).

If we win out, we get a #1 seed. No question in my mind.

It's not an outside shot if we win out... Why are y'all going off polls that don't mean jack shite? NET rankings have been higher on this team than the polls all year, and winning out would bump us easily up several spots (we're already #14).

Win out= 1 seed

How is a 4 loss power conference champ with a single conference loss not a 1-seed, especially with a really long streak of wins headed into the tourney?

I'm just extremely pessimistic that LSU would get the #1 ranking even if they 100% deserved it. That's all.

Let's just take a second and look at how far this program has come. Wasn't that long ago when we had Johnny running the team and hoped for a possible win in the NIT. Crazy what Wade has been able to do and that we are even having this discussion.

Committee said LSU was a 5 seed before the Auburn game, that's inevitably moved up at least one line if not two... I don't think the committee is as low on LSU as voters are right now

I’m just pessimistic and think if any case can be made for the blue bloods, they will.

Doesn’t matter though. Just win.

LSU would likely have to win out and make it to the SECT championship game. LSU only negatives that they don't have a great non-conf. win and the predictive metrics (kenpom, BPI, etc) don't see LSU as an "elite" team right now. That's because of the weeks of close games...regardless of opponent.

The CURRENT "likely" #1 seeds: Duke, UVA, Gonzaga, Tenn.

Teams right behind them: Mich, Mich. St., Kentucky, UNC, Houston, Purdue, Kansas, Nevada.

A win over Tenn. by LSU could knock Tenn. off the #1 line. That would probably bump Kentucky up. Then the comittee would be faced with the fact that if both UK and LSU continue to win, LSU would have won head to head AND have the better overall resume (a little secret no one talks about)

Mich and Mich St. still have to play each other twice. UNC is in line to jump to a #1, but they still have Duke twice AND they face the same issue as LSU. Other than Gonzaga, they lost all of their "big" non-conf. games.

Nevada and Houston have no room for error simply due to playing in weak conferences.

Kansas has 6 losses, but they've played the toughest schedule in the nation. The huge knock on them is that they can't win on the road. They play TTU and KSU this week. Win both and they are in the conversation for a #1 seed again. Lose one, and they are probably out.

This week is HUGE for LSU. Despite their record, the predictive metrics still really like Florida. That would be a solid win. But if LSU can follow that with a victory over Tenn, then they place themselves at the top of the SEC and NO ONE will be able to say it's still just a two horse race between UK and Tenn.

Win out and win the SECT we are a lock for a 1. Not even a question

This isn’t baseball where the committee screws us every chance they get

Anyone saying this still is ignorant or biased or some combination of the two

I’d say it would almost be a lock for a 1 seed at that point.

Outright SEC regular season champs. SEC tourney champs. Both of which carry a lot of weight this year, when SEC is probably the 3rd best conference.

We would have likely 3 wins over UT/UK, 2 of which are away from home. 30-4 overall record with no bad losses, and 3 of our 4 losses coming before Christmas.

Right now it’s assumed UT or UK will get a one but we will for sure take their 1 if we win out (including SEC tourney)

Win out, then a #1 seed. Regular season, SEC tourney champs, 30-4 record. No way the Tigers WOULDN'T be a #1 with such a resume, considering it would require beating Tenn and most likely Tenn/KY a second time in the tourney.

They didn't even put us in the top 10 this week. We are only ranked 16 SMH.
