Better off with just taking an extra bye week.
Or can the teams agree just to play a 1/2?
This is embarrassing as hell for McNeese.
Why their players would want to suit up against a team like LSU is beyond me.

Work through the kinks and work on a few wrinkles in your offensive gameplan.
Get game reps for your starters and younger guys who rarely play.
Building deeper depth to see who you might need later down the line.
Keeping guys engaged and ready to play.

Rarely does the upset does happen but it has happened before.
And FCS teams are often playing the P4 team in their state which a lot of their players probably grew up wanting to play in that stadium and they get a chance to do it. Seen plenty of these FCS guys in warm ups taking in the moment and taking pictures in Tiger Stadium as it's probably the only time they'll perform here.
