I don’t know man. I think he did a fairly decent job there of carrying a very old man through a nationally televised live TV segment while not breaking “character.”

He's peak entertainment. I love his energy but I get if he isn't your flavor. Dude is getting paid because the overwhelming opinion is he's a positive for gameday. Viewership is at an all time high with Pat .

Pat is fun. I couldn't live with him. But he's such a positive personality. A guy you want to hate, but there's objectively nothing to hate.

I actually like him. Sorry not Sorry. Get over it because he ain’t goin anywhere. His contract with ESPN is worth $85 million for 5 years. He owns that chair. And for everyone saying he ain’t Corso, I loved Corso but they kept him in way too long and the last 5-8 years there I felt really bad for him. It was sad to watch. I like McAffee.

Pat has more energy and will draw more of a crowd than corso especially in corso's later years, but that doesn't mean pat is good at what he does, it just means he draws eyes.

ehhh, he does the same for every school they visit. I appreciate the energy and his attempt to learn the home schools traditions.

He put it upon himself to get Freeman through the segment because it was clearly tanking. I commend Pat for doing what Desmond, Saban, and Reese couldn’t do.
If not Pat, who? Would you like David Pollack? He was less entertaining than any of the guys up there.
Viewership doesn’t lie. ESPN somehow got it right and admittedly I was not on board at first. But comparing it with the other possibilities like Pollack or bringing up Tebow, he’s the right call.

Pat is obnoxious but he brings the energy. The show would be boring AF without him. Saban is knowledgeable but drones on. Rece and Desmond kinda suck.
As someone earlier said, the ratings don’t lie.
At the end of the day, it is pure entertainment and that’s what he is there for, not brilliant analysis.

Hey, maybe he does try too hard. But a guy's gotta eat. But then IMO Gameday hasn't been the same since Lee Corso retired.
