I'm new here. I predict an overhyped LSU team in an upset by Clemson in tiger stadium on Saturday night. Don't kill the messenger.

34-27 LSU

The over/under historical trends for both coaching staffs suggest that Clemson covers.

LSU 34-10. The only one “embarrassed” will be Dabo! His trash talk about Lane/LSU will motivate our guys big time. The meth tigers will find out about the real Tigers & Death Valley!

Everyone is free to have their opinion, but I curious as to why you feel LSU is "overhyped"?

LSU is ranked 11th/13th in the polls. That puts them as either the 6th or 7th ranked SEC team (depending on the poll). That doesn't seem like "overhype" unless you feel there are 8, 9, 10, SEC teams better than LSU. Considering Auburn, Florida, Arkansas and Kentucky along have new HCs as well, its hard to see putting them ahead of LSU in the pecking order.

I guess some will say LSU is suspect because of a new HC, new offensive staff, and several new players. But it's not like this is Kiffin's first rodeo in the SEC or with a team filled with numerous transfers. Kiffin's offense was a top 3 offense in every season he was at Ole Miss..including last year with at D-2 QB. So why would anyone expect LSU's offense this year not to be just as good as Kiffin's offenses at Ole Miss?

Defensively LSU does return some continuity from a top 30 defense last year...including the DC. In comparison, Ole Miss had the #53 ranked defense. If past history is a reasonable predictor of future results, then it doesn't take a huge leap in logic to think LSU could have a top 10 (nationally) offense and a top 30 defense. That mix would likely be enough to put LSU at least in contention for a CFP spot.
