How does not rostering the players for the game today make the SEC “look dumber”? Look dumber to whom?

The SEC is now at the "fo" part of "fafo". What ever LSU does at this point on would be trolling the SEC. LSU has been incredibly amazing in handling this egregious attack against them by Sanky and the other 15 members. This will go down as the "Mother of all Karma".

You are probably correct, but I meant “look dumber” to courts… not to fans or sports media pundits.

Furthermore, if they don’t take the hint and drop the suit / if they actually pursue action against LSU…

Keep in mind LSU has yet to take legal action against the SEC. But they have plenty of ammo to do so. If the SEC really wants to try and go heavy against LSU, I do believe you’d see the gloves come off.

I’d say they won’t put their money where their mouth is, but they’ve been so dumb to this point that nothing would really surprise me.

Well, they can't now, because those 2 are enrolled in class at LSU, but do you honestly believe any of this would have happened if they had returned to Ole Miss, or gone to Alabama?

ETA: That's a rhetorical question not really meant for you.

I’ll answer anyways. Possibly, considering the SEC was very outspoken and fought against Bama signing Bediako last year.

I hope LSU does just that. The SEC seems to think, and Lane’s not rostering decision bolsters this perception in my opinion, that SEC rules/edicts supersedes the U.S. judicial system (BR judge injunction). If I understand the ruling properly, Lane was given legal protection to both roster those players AND suffer no punishment from NCAA or SEC for doing such. If I was Lane, I would have rostered those players and boisterously affirmed via official statement and interviews that I respect the judicial branch’s authority over a scholastic, athletic association.

Ie. rule of law trumps SEC authority…

Oh yeah. Fought real hard after 5 games. I must have missed when they took half of Alabama's budget and suspended Oates for half the season.

You're also talking about a player that voluntarily left Alabama, played G league for 3 seasons, then came back to Alabama.

That's a fricking bullshite comparison, and you're full of shite.

No SEC schools have rostered any “NFL players”
they have rostered “nba players” and played them when those nba players left with eligibility remaining and spent 2 years in the pros

No sec rule or lawsuit was created

Fun fact, did you know that the Big 10 established the same rule with similar penalties before the SEC did? It’s quite obvious that the penalties are so harsh because they are trying to prevent a bigger problem.

Sounds similar to RJ Luis

making the rule the first time it happened at all wouldn’t prevent a bigger problem how?

Or are we saying SEC leadership didn’t have the foresight to predict other players would try to do the same?

He shouldn’t play because he’s same thing, doesn’t make it correct because we are doing it a year later

Fun fact, did you know the NCAA could have avoided all of this by making the 5 for 5 rule just 3 months earlier?

Another fun fact, did you know that multiple other SEC programs have added professional players in football and basketball?

It’s not even about “NFL” players.

It’s about the SEC CHOOSING to create new penalties for legitimate NCAA rules and not create penalties for players the NCAA ruled ineligible (Chambliss).

In other words the NCAA basically said the 5/5 players are eligible, but ruled Chambliss was NOT eligible

So the SEC said, “we’ll penalize LSU for playing guys that should be on the field, but we won’t penalize ole miss for playing a guy the NCAA ruled shouldn’t be on the field.”

All players have legal injunctions telling the SEC to let them play, but the SEC only chooses to selectively DAMAGE LSU with a lawsuit.

This lawsuit should be the undoing of the conference as we know it.
