Still small percentage of a 3* and lower being drafted in the first round compared to total amount of 3*’s out there.

I get your point, but not everyone realizes how many 3*’s they have every year, and how much more often 5*’s hit.

I agree to an extent. Recruit somewhat normally without bending to the will of every 18-year-old with demands. Still recruit Louisiana. Give them a chance to develop. Only pay for a few of the players that we can't miss on.

Good post but I think the freaking out is due to not having a single QB on our roster at the moment and a decimated OL group…

Sure but the NCAA won't allow this many 23-25 year olds to keep playing CFB in the future. These teams are one offs and not a strategy that can be used later

I'm curious to what you see from Miami to believe they can beat this Indiana team? Indiana won't be able to run at will against them but miami won't score enough to keep up.

Cignetti has figured out how to find and develop a bunch of kids that are committed to working and playing hard nose, discipline, smart football. I think that has become very hard to do with a bunch of 5 star kids that have been told how great they are since middle school.

Miami beat Ohio State much more handily than IU did.

The data does not support your argument

Great post, but Indiana’s AVERAGE age is something like 23 years and change.

Sure, they may have started as 3-stars, but these guys have been in college forever. At some point, how good you are your senior year of high school is less important than 4-5 years of college training.

IU’s qb just said it beat…..not 1 5 star on their team. Juat a group willing to buy in and do ot together.

Indiana beats Miami by double digits. Indianas defense is just as much or more suffocating than Miami and a way better offense than Miami

I agree about the age being beneficial. Do not agree about being one-off. He was successful in evaluating lesser talent at JMU (52-9) then and went P5 and went 11-2 (Indiana was 3-9 previously). I can't agree with his methods being one-off or simply due to having a year of older players.

The roi on a high school qb that has to sit for two or three years to get ready to play is a perfect example.

So, hypothetical: School X can want local HS Hero to play QB for them- so rather than wait on bench a cpl yrs, School X advises them to go to a small school where they can win the start and get playing time and experience, and promise to “come get them in two years” when they are ready for the Big Time?

So this has happened potentially once in how many years?

24-14 is not "much more handidly" than 13-10.

There is rarely any useful data in transitive property.

Indiana was 11-2 last year. They finished 10th.

Playoffs are relatively new, and this NIL mess is even newer.

If it's a "generational talent" recruit, you lock him in because he will be playing soon anyway. See Fournette.
