Wisconsin safety Xavier Lucas says Wisconsin has not released him into the portal

When an athlete decides they want to explore transferring to another school, they have to notify their current school's compliance office. And the compliance office then has two business days to put that athlete's name in the portal.

Reading the comments it’s mentioned several times that Miami tampered and Fickell has called it out, requesting the NCAA investigate. Not sure how true that is, or if Wisconsin can hold the release under those circumstances, but there’s definitely more to this story.

Before the portal, LSU blocked a few kids from transferring because they were tampered with. Willie Allen being blocked to go to TCU was one. If Wisconsin is blocking this kid, it’s probably not because they are just desperately trying to prevent him from leaving. It’s not like they aren’t active in the portal or losing other kids.
They are losing him whether he goes to Miami or not, this just sends a message to not pursue their kids before they enter.

Mom’s will say anything to protect their sons.
And more than likely they didn’t, but an agent was communicating for Miami, if i had to guess. Again, I don’t know what’s true or not but it will probably surface.

Will still potentially black eye their recruiting going forward. I understand their stance, but the reality is that this could possibly affect his highest offer. These kids want to be tampered with. It’s a signal that the tampering school really wants you. They dgaf if it’s against the rules.

Had this been a SEC school doing this, right or wrong, it would be all over the media. It would be the lead story on ESPN and a talking point during every game and sports show.

It's an administrative thing. Wisconsin is essentially slow rolling the paperwork to obstruct the process. Think like government agencies saying they cannot comply with an FOIA request because it would take 75 years to release all the documents.
