Why didn't we upgrade safety and corner in the portal?

I said we needed a starting safety and corner and the secondary is shite.

They didn't get a corner and Gilbert wasn't a top safety. They had much better players.

Should've been much more. They played well. Just should've upgraded sage and cb2.
Sage literally runs around with no direction. He is always 2 seconds to late and comes flying in.
Ole miss didn't impress me without tre Harris. He got hurt early and didn't play the rest of the game.

Sage, Burns, and Gilbert are definitely liabilities. Stamps is inconsistent. Alexander is very consistent and probably their best secondary player right now. Woodland is going to be a stud. I think Stamps makes plays he's just inconsistent. I think his issue is he doesn't have top end speed so he has no makeup if he's slightly beat. The transfer portal is mostly a bust for LSU again this year outside Daniels.
I've said this before but every since Nader has retired LSU's personnel talent evaluations in high school and portal have been way worse than typical. I think this is a glaring problem that needs to be fixed. Can't tell you how important Nader was to LSU's decades of success.
