Why did this Blue Chip Opelousas RB just commit to ULM with Powerhouse offers?

He'll go there. Start. Do well and then transfer over to a P4 school.

This is the new reality of players who are on the cusp.

Offer could've been PWO or a Plan B type situation. If he was truly that good I would be shocked that top teams would be looking the other way. There has to be something holding him back or they could be wrong and he's another "jeanty"

really pulling for him. I'm surprised the best school he could get was ULM. Something isn't right. I will be following him to see how he does at ULM. Seems like he could play LB or RB there.

Hard to believe USL didn't give him a scholarship

Because those offers weren't real. I'm a fan of the kid and hope he does well but he has to be one of the more overrated prospects this board has ever discussed based on post count/threads about him. His final 4 should tell us something. Grades would've been easy for someone, anyone, to quickly tell the tale. Dont think that's it. Maybe he's just a bargain basement RB. Or maybe we were right and 100 college staffs are wrong. Lester did an in depth study of the LA backs this cycle. Maybe he knows what the deal is.

He gives the reason in the quote in that tweet.

He wants to be the next Ahmad Hardy. Hardy went to ULM and had an awesome year as a freshman. Almost 1400 yards rushing. Then he transferred to Missouri. ULM using that to recruit.

He fell down my board a little in his SR year but it still seems like something like grades. He may not be LSU material but he is way better than ULM. All that said, good RBs come from everywhere. If he is worth a damn he will pop up somewhere in a year

It’s a great strategy for them until the kid isn’t the best back on the team and he’s throwing a fit for not getting the PT he was expecting.

Why does that affect their strategy. They are selling themselves as a stepping stone to something bigger. If that works out for the player then obviously they had a great year for ulm. If the player doesn't make the jump then they can still develop him.

When did 3-star athletes become "Blue Chip" athletes?

But if you read what Wiltfong wrote

quote:

He sees a path to star in year one and then hit the Transfer Portal.

He seems to have a plan.

It’s not grades anymore
Probably didn’t show speed at all the camps he went to
Most power 5 want certain skill set
He can go to ulm and if he balls out there he can move up

Good for ULM.

It’s the NFLSU strategy on a g5 scale.

Sell kids on we will get you to a big time P5 program.

Kinda like a mini Ole Miss. (see Quinshon judkins)
