He said it was a hard choice but kept citing connection for alumni as the reason he chose A&M. Was LSU aware of this and why didn't we give him what he wanted?

Can't fault him. He is a Texas kid. Props for for sticking with his commitment.

Simple answer: can’t win them all. Seems like he ultimately wanted to go to A&M.

Because he wanted A&M and we didn’t have that.

Just the fact that LSU got so close to pulling him with his family much closer to A&M, and I believe his cousin is on the team there as well, is a major accomplishment.

Leader broke and I'm a lifetime offshore fisherman. Lost a giant 500+ bluefin recently after a 90+ minute fight and we saw him near the boat. Lost a couple 500-800 pound blue marlin the same way.

Oh well, shite happens, and aTm had this from the start...

Don't linger too long on the ones we didn't catch, just the ones we did 'cause he's Tiger Bait now...

He lived in an A&M town and everyone close to him is A&M.

Because you didn't do your part. It's all your fault.

He signed with the school he committed to. It’s not like it was some big loss for us. The fact that he strongly considered passing up on A&M money to come play here to win is a good sign of our program strength going forward.

He's a Texas kid who committed a long time ago to A&M and stuck to his word. Good for him on honoring his commitment in a world where that is increasingly rare.

I really think it came down to being 2 and half hrs from home vs 4 and half hrs from home and knowing if it doesn't work out he has two opportunities a year to head a little further away and give it another shot. I really don't think it came down to money with him. A&m was always the closest big time program to where he grew up. Was too much to overcome in the end.
