DDon, say he looked "cat quick" and played very well. Live on the Northshore and didn't get to watch any of the games. Anyone see him in person and did he look as good as Dandy Don said?

I was casually watching the game at best but he intercepted a screen pass and looked pretty athletic for his size. Cat quick is a little excessive though.

He made a very athletic play on his INT. He played well I guess, but it wasn't like he was dominating the LOS though.

For the most part they ran away from him while he was in the game. I did notice several times when the ball was ran to the opposite side from him he would still be near the tackle. He definitely has a motor.

this kid has only scratched the surface of how good he can be imo... I think even though he is rated fairly high, that he may be one of the most underrated guys this year

didnt impress me that much with his play, had an INT gift wrapped right into his bread basket

however u could definitely see his athleticism in the way he moved. He just had a quiet game though. I think he'll be an OT when its said and done

Like they said, most all teams run away from him.

he didn't make much noise in the passing game either. Rummel threw it prob 12-15 times last night.

He will probably move to the OL, especially considering the de-committment of Hardrick.

Allen is a beast, though. He is a fiery, energetic guy, which is why when I talked to him he said he would like to remain on the d-line. His personality suits it.

But he will likely not be given a choice. We'll see. His energy and passion for the game of football should be unquestioned.

I know he loved that interception last night.

He did show good instincts on the pick though. He read screen and had to make a break on the ball. Just saying it was little more than Rummel just throwing it right into his belly.

He does appear to have a lot of room to grow though. Definitely saw potential but he was not dominating at the LOS out there.

Rummel's offensive line was not feeling much love for Chucky Hunter.

Seemed like they were illegally chop blocking him alot toward the end. i guess they were tired of him wearing them out.

No, they thought it was legal. Had nothing to do with bad sportsmanship. I can promise you that.

It is legal to chop a defensive lineman when the QB is under center. It is illegal to chop a defensive lineman when the QB is in the gun. The players or coaches didn't know that. Blame it on the coaches.

It WAS NOT done with intent to injure the player.

I saw Allen get chopped blocked and I was worried about the way the guys were chop blocking that more of the players would be injured. Allen was also being double and even triple teamed at times. But the entire defense was so good, I didn't think that he stood out. He didn't look over powering. But he do look athletic.

You are right those Rummel kids are good kids. I wasn't implying they were trying to hurt him.

Just doing anything they could to slow him down and control him.

The cut block on the screen was as dirty as it gets. He clearly hits him behind the knee and rolls his weight onto his ankle.
The others were interior so I trust you on those

I went to the West Monroe/Catholic game...

At first I wasn't too impressed with Allen, but I realized they weren't running to his side..

Well they attempted to run to his side.. and he caused the dude to fumble.. leading to a WM touchdown..

Watching last night, you didn't here much from him.. just when you think wow i'm not impressed he picks off a pass..

I honestly think he might get moved.. he plays REALLY REALLY high.. that may just be because he freaking taller then everyone.. lol.. i'm not recruiting guy..

but maybe he does get moved over to the o-line?

will be interesting to see..

I tell you what though.. Hunter looked really good last night.. Remember seeing him busting through the line on a 4 and 1 and not allowing Rummel to pick up the first down..

Hopefully he's going to be a good one as well.
