Damn. Three straight years of losing the best O lineman in state.
Hard to blame Robinson at the time. LSU had Stud coaching the OL, and we've had very little success in putting OL in the NFL under Miles. Obviously, La'el going in the top 15 will help that perception going forward, but Bama has put a ton of linemen in the NFL recently. It's the same reason why we're able to pull elite DBs from around the country. Couple that with the talk of us being "outworked" in the Monroe area, and it's really not surprising that he chose Bama.
Tillery seemed like a big loss, but he may very well end up on defense. Adding Chidi and Weathersby late made Tillery nothing more than an afterthought, IMO.
I think we still have a good shot with Allen. JC kids take their time with the process, and Grimes proved that he can close on big prospects in this last cycle. I wouldn't write him off just yet.

So if this happens again for the 2016 class, LSU needs to go get an outstanding player from another state.
Why not do like two years ago when Jamal Adams signed instead of the Five Star wanna be from Monroe, Hootie Jones. And like last year when the Tigers signed Tehuma after not landing Tillery on the OL?

Robinson would be a top 5-10 pick if he had gone to UL Monroe.

If Carter will play safety, LSU can probably flip him.

I'm not sure what ever happened with the Jamal/Hootie thing. My guess is that once Jamal starting showing interest, real interest, we cooled big on Hootie so that even when he wanted to come there wasn't a place for him. Someone clarify.
OTOH, I thought Tehuma committed really early. It wasn't a case that we whiffed on Tillery and then sought out Tehuma.
I really hope we get both Allen and Carter but when we're recruiting at the level that we are losing both won't even be a blip on the radar.

correct. both are talented but carter is a db and we will have no.1 db class with or w/o him. allen is the biggest boom/bust player in the state.

Exactly. When was the last time a big time JC recruit announced early? I can't ever remember one. Allen will announce in a televised national signing day ceremony. It's the way JT Curtis likes to have his top recruits roll.

Been unusually quiet on their end since the Womack fiasco.

correct. If there is a direct replacement for Tillery it is probably Weathersby

I think LSU flips Carter over the summer

If we get Cater at safety, what does that do to the kid from Amite we offered?

I only bring him up because they're friends and have some of the same off field people in their circles.

What kid from amite are we referring to Perry?
Posted on 3/6/15 at 1:50 pm to Tiger Phanatick
yeah, I had forgot his name earlier
Posted on 3/6/15 at 1:55 pm to ProjectP2294
Yeah his name needs to be added to the Recruiting tracker.
Not sure if we have a requisition process for this.

I forgot about Perry. I have just been following the Texas guys.

Devin White merely said that Alabama was working him harder than anyone else.
He noted Nick Saban had traveled to Springhill to see him at school. Les had not done so (and still hasn't, as far as I know).
Sounds to me like he was stating the facts.
If Les gets outworked for top talent, in this state, in positions of need, we get what we deserve.
Can't blame a kid for wanting to feel wanted.
