Facts: He’s had only one recruiting class which finished top 10 and one portal class which finished #1 and when combined was ranked #1 or 2. Haters gonna hate.

Top 10 recruiting isn’t good enough

Hell the FR guys can't be worse than Chestnut, Z, Burns etc...Way too many wide open guys and soft 5-10yd zones on 3rd n 5...hey novel concept come up and hit the guy before he runs 5 yds turns catches and falls forward for a 1st down untouched...how many times have we seen that coverage in the last 2 years

I love Sunday morning overreaction posts :) going to focus on the secondary here.
Let's roll the calendar back a year... bunch of transfers, we had almost no young depth... it took 6-8 weeks for the transfers to really come on (Mekhi Garner and JBC in particular).
Give it a few more weeks before we start hitting the panic button...
Sam had some good plays last night, Denver did too. If Denver and Zy are a fraction quicker on a handful of the plays people are pissed off about, then it's PBUs or picks, rather than nice gains for Arky. They've got to play a little bit more instinctive but they're getting there.
As far as the kids go... Yaites saw the field last night and he's going to come along nicely. Guys like Toviano and Stamps should be ready by next year - it's just unrealistic to expect a true freshman to step into the secondary and be successful from the jump (except in rare cases).
Probably the hardest position to come into and contribute immediately is the secondary - and especially so with the scheme that House is running, it doesn't make it any easier on kids that were used to just going out there and worrying about locking down 1 person in HS.
TLDR - have a little patience. We're going to see Denver and Zy continue to improve. Sam and Burns will be OK holding it down for awhile, but we WILL see the kids start to come on more as the season goes along.

Not a recruiting question, but I'm curious about the thoughts on Welch. I really thought he would be at least getting reps by now.

Imagine a defense over the next few years that includes Colin Simmons, DJ McKinley, Desmond Ricks, Wardell Mack, and Derek Williams.
But we missed on all of those players, and as a result those positions will be filled with lesser recruited players and/or transfer portal players.
This is the difference between 9-3 seasons and 11-1 or 12-0 seasons. It's the differences between Cheez-It Bowl appearances in Orlando and playoff game appearances. This is why Georgia has won back to back titles. This is why Alabama was dominant for so long. You have to land those kinds of recruits each and every year.
It all starts with recruiting. Too many people are completely dismissive when we lose out on guys like McKinley, Simmons, Ricks, Mack, etc, and just brush it aside and assume we'll just land another guy or portal player who is just as good. But it doesn't work like that.
The reality is that if the football program is going to be taken to the next level, the recruiting has to significantly improve over what we're currently seeing. These classes are going to be great for 9-3 seasons and occasionally a 10-2 season - but if we want to consistently start going 11-1 or better each and every season, the recruiting flat out has to improve.

dude probably is elite man press corner which holds no value on lsu d?

Step 1, hire a coach that can't be negative recruited and is actually coaching. Lindsay's situation, while unfortunate, isn't an LSU problem.
Wow...yeah fire a guy on medical leave. I am sure all the top d line, or any position, coaches will come running after that. Definitely no way any other school could negative recruit a story about lsu not caring about its staff so much they fired a guy on medical leave. What could go wrong with your plan?

Kelly hasn't truly felt our wrath yet. It's coming if he doesn't correct the issues we have. Of course, the alternative is we will be paying our 3rd straight coach millions not to coach here.
"Felt our wrath"

Yeah there are areas of improvement we need to work on and depending on how this class/season turns out maybe some staffing changes will be made, but you guys talking about Kelly being on the heat seat now or shortly kill me. You have to give a coach more than 2 years to fix a problem like we had. Kelly won't even be close to getting fired until he at least puts a full HS class of his own on the field.

I mentioned a few times that Welch has been absent from the equation. Coaches rarely mention him, but was assured by fellow posters he was the next Louisiana DB. Got DV'd and all but called out about 9-12 months ago. Still no Welch...

Well, that’s the other problem. We can’t sign them out of high school so we have to go to the portal. This shite gives me a headache lol
Yes we can but it's all about NIL now.

relying on the portal is why we are in the shape we are in. we need to recruit and develop those recruits.

I don't think it's physical with Welch. A lot like Quincy Wiggins, he must not be picking up his assignments. Although, the rest of the defense looked lost for much of the game last night so I'm not sure why they aren't playing.

Medical shite aside lidnsey was a weak hire.
Our position coaches aren’t coaching or recruiting well

Let’s just cherry pick a bunch of 5 stars and high 4 stars we didn’t get or they aren’t committed here….
You realize that every single school in the country wants those guys and guys like them? If you seriously expect to win more of those battles than not every year, you’re kidding yourself.
We’ve landed Will Campbell, Lance Heard, Toviano, Womack, etc that were very similar battles.

Top Dlineman will be hard to get out of portal. It is a position everyone pretty much needs. It will be big bank take little bank (HIGHEST BIDDER).

Who were the best DL on the field last night ? Both are probably top 3rd picks
Where did they come from?
