Huh? MacKinnon was part of a team that led us to a last place finish in the SEC. You want more of that?

I think as an individual the stats show that he was better than average SEC player

I usually don't trust Wade on his word, but he has a pass from me on results for this season anyway.
Having said that, it seems like he has moved on from plan A to sign a bunch of 5 for 5 super seniors to sign a bunch of international near pros.
Even with Plan B he is keeping a couple of slots open for the super seniors that he is close with just in case. Beyond that he has his one signee from the portal and will possibly take one more.
All of this is just his 1st year strategy. Next year he will pull in a few 5 for 5 guys, 1 or 2 top international guys, and start to fill the roster with top high school recruits, which is his bread and butter.
I have little doubt that he will be successful with his NIL backing.

Read someone say Thomas was the best player CMM ever got. Naw, he was prolly the most expensive. But the big man from Murray state, Williams or McKinnon are the best. Not a great argument, but McKinnon won’t get much credit for development being on the 25-26 team.
If he still wants to compete, puts on weight (15-25) will get nbdl options this summer. Will only be offered a shooting role.

He is an average SEC player on the right teams, but far from a winning basketball player in the SEC of the last 3 years. Not to hate on the guy, but this was the second roster flip McMahon made an egregious error in roster construction. Good coach, better person, just wasn’t cut out for high major college basketball. Even with some saying we had one of the lowest NIL commitments for basketball, the team was probably overpaid by 50% from the start.
