100%

Edit: The new OC should be given autonomy to hire whoever he wants. If wants to fit his scheme, with the caveat being the guy has the be able to recruit his was out of a wet paper sack

The OL coach needs to be up to date with modern offenses

So not Mawae

I prefer an Oline coach that can just flat out recruit. Even after Pittman left Kirby still can real them in.

Hell fricking Stud is the Oline coach at OsU.

We need a bad arse recruiter specifically for the Oline.

I’ll take recruiting over scheme all day on the OL. Mawae is a big name, LSU alum and hall of famer. He can bring in the big fish and I have to believe a hall of fame C knows enough to coach up some blue chip studs.

Here comes the melt!!!! Y'all lose it every year. You never get everyone you have on your board, hell you dont get everyone who is "committed" to you as well. Its 18 year olds, they change their minds. Its not the end of the world, O is not in over his head, the program is not imploding. Go take a bubble bath have a glass of wine and put a new tampon in.

Where has he shown he can recruit? We can’t take a chance. Some people are good at it but more are not. I would prefer a known commodity.

Sorry but if O makes the mistake of putting all his eggs in one basket again at a position desperate for quality and quantity then you can absolutely make the argument that O is in over his head. Dellinger is just one guy. We could very well lose all 5 of our starting OL from this year and it’s sage to say we lose at least 3 with the remaining guys being an Ivy League C who gets run over a bunch but hopefully can get better and a RG who has underperformed since he looked solid his freshmen year.

How likely would it be for mawae to leave asu? How good of a recruiter is he?

The problem with VOL is that his excuse has been the same shite year after year. He come on the RB and says a player is on board. Then that Player signs with someone else. VOL comes on and claims kid lied to coaches.

I don’t know of a high profile player he was right about. It’s almost like he is here to troll fans.

Have you, or anyone for that matter, ever here Mawae say he’s interested in being a full-time assistant. There’s a lot of difference between being an analyst and a full time assistant coaching chasing 18 year olds, and their parents, year round. The demands of an analyst are much less than an assistant coach.

Get your arse up there every year and offer the best from these states and give kids the option to come get some south Louisiana pussy and food while not having to freeze their pricks off in the winter time with a chance to actually play for a title. No brainer.

I was thinking about this recently. Les seemed to emphasize MW recruiting & was able to get Pocic from IL & Joe Barksdale from MI.

Why not make more of a run at some of those big farm kids?

Maybe we don’t always get everyone we want but why do we NEVER get the stud offensive linemen?

Valid point on attrition. Considering their play this year, I am not sure they would get much interest from NFL teams. Gonna have to pull from Juco and transfer portal.

Coach O isn't any better of a recruiter than Les Miles was.

Him being some ace recruiter is a big fricking myth.
