They went .500 in conference because those players did not produce in conference games. They were 10th in runs scored in conference play. There’s really not much room to fall as far as conference results.

This is an unpopular position, but is accurate. All of those players are good players and we've enjoyed watching them, but they were a group that lacked the bopper(s) needed to win at the highest levels.

Who replacing them? Unless they get 3-4 portal starters it will be bad

They were freshmen and sophomores once too. You act as if no one is on the roster. The graduating crew was good, but not irreplaceable.

So you’re saying that in the 12 wins it was the others that won those games? That’s hilarious…there is a long way to fall like from 12-12 to 8-16 or worse…that’s what you’re looking at without major portal help

They were 6-0 when they gave up 0-1 runs, 6-6 when they gave up 2-3, and 0-6 when they gave up 4+. They should have done much better than 12-12 with the second best ERA in conference play. In no way did the offense carry them to that record. Not once did they outscore an opponent in a high scoring conference game.

They hit .248 with 10 HR in 24 conference games. You are seriously overestimating the production they need to replace to perform better in the conference. The bigger question is whether Heavener will be ready to match or exceed what they got from Lynch this season. If she can’t, that’s when they’ll feel the lack of offense.

248 with 10 hr equal a 500 or less in conference play.

I am saying the kids on the bench aren’t any good, they are significantly worse than the players last yr. We will re-visit in the spring when everyone will be in here wanting to fire Dobson when they can’t hit. I am telling you it won’t be his fault unless you want to blame recruiting which is an entire different subject.

All very true, I think folks are misunderstanding what I am saying, the bench outside Redouty, Bergeron and Coffey is mid major level at the very best. Who do folks on this board think is good on the bench? If folks come at me a bunch of slappers then I want you to show me a elite team with more than 1 in their lineup…

I'm wondering how you came to that conclusion. The carousel of true freshmen that played last year didn't really start playing until conference play and their averages weren't far off from the ones that were seniors:

Sierra Daniel: Appeared in 40 games while starting 32 at second and third base along with ending the season as the team’s designated hitter. Posted a .300 average with a .333 slugging percentage behind 27 hits and 22 runs scored with two extra-base hits.

Madyson Manning: Started in all 18 games she appeared …Had a .320 batting average with eight hits, scored two runs and had three RBIs…Also drew six walks to contribute to a .452 on-base percentage, and registered four sacrifice hits

Maddox McKee: Made 17 starts at third base and appeared in 32 games… Registered a .237 average with 14 hits, 11 runs, seven RBIs and had two doubles…Defensively, had 20 assists, 13 putouts turned two double plays and had five errors

How many extra base hits? 5 total for 3 players in 140 at bats..singles don’t win u shiiit that’s pathetic. You talking about 2 slappers and kid that barely got it out of the infield..we will see, just don’t blame Dobson when they hitting .250

This team is lacking in big hitters. Not sure anyone on the bench can fill that role. Savoie hit HR’s in HS and has the build to hit it out but she hasn’t played much, so maybe she wasn’t good enough to beat out others. Maybe Beth was just loyal to the upperclassmen. I really wish Poncho had been recruited to LSU because she had 15 HR’s this year at McNeese, hit for average, and made 1st team all SLC. She was the other Notre Dame player along with Maci and Abygail.

This is her McNeese bio

ACCOLADES
All-SLC (1st team/2024)

2024 SOPHOMORE
• All-SLC (1st team)

2023 FRESHMAN
• Played in 41 games, started in 24
• .341 batting average, 28 hits, 11 runs scored
• Three home runs, six doubles, 15 RBI, nine walks
• .426 on base percent, .966 fielding percent

HIGH SCHOOL (NOTRE DAME)
• Notre Dame’s, the state and the nation’s single season home run leader with 32 in her senior season.
• Collected 71 RBI and seven doubles as a senior
• Member of four straight Division III championship teams
• Louisiana Farm Bureau Insurance/LSWA Miss Softball
• LSWA Class 2A Most Outstanding Player
• Max Preps All-America First Team
• Daily Advertiser All-Acadiana First Team
• All-Metro Outstanding Player
• MaxPreps National Player of the Year Candidate
• Gatorade Player of the Year Nominee

Played in all 58 games for Ole Miss and hit .314 for the season. Probably will take Briggs place in CF IMO

Hope so. She's pretty much the only transfer I wanted mostly because she's killed us. Keeping Bama and Tenn from getting her is nice too.

yeah I think they used the success of Andrews & Briggs to seal the deal

I mean taking over the position that has been occupied the past 7 years by 2 of the best defensive outfielders from this past decade is quite the opportunity

if they can land Johnson from Washington, which right now LSU is the favorite, & Hodge from Oklahoma, it’d be the best transfer class Torina has ever gotten
