Army has a top ten defense in the country by the way.

Mensah would fit perfectly for Belhaven or North Alabama

Mensah is the best qb prospect in the portal and has more potential than Nuss. Nuss had a few good games and a few bad games. He’s not a slam dunk either lol
The portal just opened and you idiots act like he’s fricking Cam Ward.
The QB window shoppers here need to understand that you don’t shuffle them on purpose unless your starter leaves if he’s good or better. For all of his flaws, Nuss is good enough that continuity with the offense is an advantage over what may be a small amount of upside. It takes time for any new QB, even a good one, to get in sync with the rest of the offense. And you’re talking about him adjusting to moving from Tulame’s AAC schedule to a real one with tougher teams than a middling K-State, .500 OU, and Memphis and Army.
Otherwise, you frick around and end up like OU this season, with a 5 star bust on his own way out the door while your former starter that you nudged out is playing for a title. Or it could just be like Ohio State- overpaying to swap QBs for almost the same results while your former starter has a better year away from you. The later is more likely, but don’t pretend like swapping QBs just for the hell of it is a great idea.
If you want better QB play- fix the fricking run game. Nothing will improve until that happens, however it happens. Even a QB with legs isn’t going to walk in here and be Jayden Daniels and improve that all alone with the same playcalling and OL inconsistency.

ND rolled over them like they weren’t fricking there and right from the jump. That game was never competitive.

Well no shite Notre Dame’s o line probably out weighs army d line by an average of 50 pounds. Still a good defense

For the AAC, which isn’t saying anything. Memphis had a defense almost as poorly ranked as LSU’s last season and still beat Tulame on their home field. And they did it by shutting Tulame down for 3 quarters and building a lead. Mensah didn’t do shite in that game in the first half and got all of his stats playing from behind.

Mensah would be a 2 year project.

58th best defense in the country per FEI
They don’t suck but certainly not one of the 10 best defenses in the country.

He sucked versus Army
Isn’t he in his first year starting? He has some room to improve. Overall not bad for a freshman.

Tells me you just look at stats and not much else. His receivers dropped several balls that game, it was almost comical. They also had three fumbles(not by him) on the opponents side of the field. The Memphis game was the rest of the team coming out flat and Mensah doing his best to keep it together.

This kid would be fun to watch in Freeze’s offense at Awwburn or Riley’s offense at USC
USC might be his landing spot. Isn't Mensah from SoCal?

He also feels like a Kiffin type. Ole Miss will no doubt offer.

What would nuss stats be playing the #100 strength of schedule

Why?
b/c he's not a fricking statue, back foot throwing QB... look , we have to ride or die for Nuss, but that don't mean you can't be honest about his flaws... i'm praying this MF learns how to not throw off his back foot and when to tuck and run over the offseason, and that he blows it the frick up, don't get me wrong...
but i just prefer what Mensah can do athletically at QB vs. what Nuss can... i don't think the passing ability is quite the same, but it ain't far off, but athletically, and what can win games in the SEC, a mobile QB that can also sling it, Mensah has an edge over Nuss, and really it's not that debatable...

Against a like opponent, Oklahoma, Mensah was 14/32 for 166 yds 1 TD and 1 INT with -7 yds rushing.
Nuss was 22/31 for 277 yds with 3 TD and 0 INT and -7 yds rushing.
So there’s that…..
