Who does the rant want us to grab out of the portal?

Underwood. Say what you want about him not looking that impressive or he struggled this year, but the dude just turned 18 in August and started every game at Michigan as a true freshman. Battle tested with a steep learning curve in a pedestrian offense.
We know the talent is there, so I love the idea of this guy developing under Kiffin with his schemes, and for more than one season.

Underwood over both if you can get him

Are we betting? Give me the field.

Trinidad for continuity with Lane
Maybe the big kid at NC State if not. Don’t know that he’s gonna hit the portal, but I thought I saw somebody mention him. 6’5ish, good arm, decent mobility. Already started his first 2 years and could be due to blow up.

Don’t even care. Any of them will be way better than last year.

We need at least 2 QBs, so get Leavitt, Chambliss, or Simmons to be the starter and Underwood to back up and develop. Will need another QB if MVB and Hurley leave.

I’d love to have Simmons if just for baseball alone.

And not have to throw the bank at him!

Mestemaker. He is in that Josh Allen/Drake Maye mold. I feel like that would be perfect for Kiffin’s offense because he uses a lot of option, but still needs an accurate passer.
Nuss had a nagging injury all season and I don’t want to have to deal with that again from Leavitt.

Underwood.
Only way Underwood works is if he has accepted some humble pie and asks for a reasonable amount of money. If he cost $12M or whatever Michigan paid him then we need to look elsewhere. You can't build a championship roster with close to 50% of your NIL chest going to a single player.

Is this the kid from North Texas? The same kid who had problems with Tulane's defense. Hell Nah, he's not ready for the SEC. We went through two seasons of Nuss, and you want a QB similar to him. You guys love pain!!

Trinidad should declare for the nfl draft
Posted on 12/12/25 at 10:10 am to KyrieElaison
Why should he declare if he's not being considered as a first rounder? Stay in college, transfer to LSU, and grab a big NIL deal. Transferring to LSU could be beneficial to his career. A good season here can get you into the Heisman race and improve your draft stock. Nuss is still being considered a Day 2 draftee with the trash season he just had.

Tulane fan here. That guy is a stud. He was coming on in the 2nd half. He has a beautiful pass and his touch was impressive. Couple lucky bounces in Tulane favor made him seem pedestrian. Plus, he's young and somewhat mobile.

Colton Joseph and potentially Simmons....both for the price of one Leavitt, Underwood. Both are better imo.

Looking Suss against Tulane, yeah, he's good and LSU should pursuit another MID QB.

smart play for underwood would be to take less NIL money and get into a pass oriented offense that could develop his talents to make a successful career in the NFL Michigan is not that place. Guessing his family figured 12 million invested wisely would provide a steady income source for very long time. Short term gain vs much greater long term rewards. They chose the quick fix.
