If he chooses football, he could be a college version of prime Jimmy Graham.
There’s a reason 6’-9” guys don’t play in the NFL.They lose leverage at that height. Far from being scary, opposing teams could bottle him up at the LOS.

Not to be an arse but LSU doesn’t play in the NFL and I’ve watched this dude play, he could make plays here in college. Who knows, he could be saying that and actually be 6’7 without shoes. He isn’t slow and he could still play a huge role at LSU at 6’9 if he can use his body correctly.
You don’t need leverage when you can just take the ball out of the sky. You start low off the line, strictly to get out physically, then you burst into your route. If that’s only on 3rd down and near the end zone, it could help if he’s a specialist at it. Don’t let him practice anything else but simply getting off the LOS, getting enough separation, using his body control and going up for the ball.
If they have to double him, that helps everyone else. You get someone like that to strictly get first downs and TDs. That type of size can’t be used in the NFL because GMs can’t just waste a spot for TEs who can’t play the entire position. In college, you can easily do that. We could have TEs that play the entire position and this guy to come in for special needs. Now if he keeps growing, that’s a different story.

he should probably be looking at basketball.
I will get a look at him on the basketball court this Saturday. He's attending the Top 250 camp.

6’9” is too tall for football. He needs to be a Power Forward

And there’s the likelihood he gets taller, he still has 2 years left in HS.

Isn't Whitworth 6'8"?

According to combine results Whitworth is (6’-7”) 79”. Johnathan Ogden is 6’-8” and Ed “too tall” Jones is supposedly 6’-9”. Not too many successful over 6’-8” in league history because like many in this thread have alluded too its hard to get leverage at that height.
