Very talented and my guess is that LK could do wonders with him

Go ahead and add Ahmad Breaux to the list of transfer portal entries.

the only thing he has going for him is that he is from ASU and LSU has a nice history with transfer from ASU....but that is about as silly a reason to get SL as possible. There are much better, non injured, cheaper QB's that will not potentially bust at LSU like SL is more than likely be, due to reinjury. Not worth the gamble.

Who are these much better options? And by what metric are they much better? I mean I understand Chambliss being option number 1 with how easy of a transition it would be but even he doesn't fit the description of much better.

And to your point, chambliss came from a division 2 school n didn't start the season. Some people just get hung up on school names.Just got to hope they get good evaluations.

Sam Leavitt is NOT going to be ready to play 100% Game 1 its not worth the Investment. Full recovery from that surgery is not guaranteed and it wont be done in time to be in the offense and ready to go!!! We need a healthy QB ready to go in summer.

You and Wolf talk in absolutes that you absolutely have no idea what you are talking about. Some players come back better than ever after that and others don’t heal properly. Everyone is different and athletes are especially different when it comes to expected recovery times. That’s what the Physicians are for and they get paid a lot of money for that.

And you speak in fantasy name
1 athlete that’s came back from lisfranc surgery and been 100 percent with no issues in 8 months. I will wait for your answer genius. Why would you want to pay a kid millions when he’s unproven and coming off injury. Best case scenario he comes back and begins football activity and running a month before the opener

All I said was leave it to the physicians. You and I have never seen his MRI or even given the kid a physical. If Lane gives the kid the bag I would bet it’s because the doctor cleared him in time for fall practice. Of course they aren’t going to pay a guy if the doctors tell Lane he won’t be ready for the season.
However the NIH (yes those guys) say full return to sports can be expected in less than 30 weeks or roughly just under 7 months.
Sports illustrated had an article discussing NFL players averaged around 10 months to be game ready out of 255 players. But all 6 of the college players averaged 8.5 months. They don’t list specific players but if the average is 8.5 months that would mean some were shorter and some were longer. All of this just to say it’s going to be up to the physician looking at this specific player. And people acting like the kid will never play again or be as athletic, it all just depend on how his body recovers.

FYI the sports illustrated article was about Taysom Hill who suffered the injury in January of 2022 and returned to the field in August 2022. But he was able to participate in limited camp activities in June. I’m sure everyone here knows Taysom Hill.
Again I’m not saying they should sign the kid. Just that we will have to see if that’s what Lane decides. Either way I’m sure he gets some insurance if he did choose Leavitt.

if he wants a future in football, that is his best shot. I hope someone explains that to him. With his speed at LB, he could be a prototype if he is mean enough.

I was hoping Lane would keep him around. I feel like he can do some special things.
