Sorry but I call B.S. - neither can even give above average results against High School players and they are not hitting up against the John Curtis' of the world every week either.

Yea I am with you. I think one of the two QB's wont be in the class.

are both of these guys just on really bad teams?
I would think a true prospect would elevate his team- no one seems to feel confident over either of our 2 QB's...just saying...

If we are going to process one of the qbs for this class it has to be Finley. In the games I've seen him play and his highlights, his arm doesnt hop out at you. Max Johnson needs to be the one we keep it they're going to get rid of a qb for other guys that we want on our roster. I like Finley bc he seems like a good highly rated players. I'm sorry for the dude, but Finley, he won't end up even seeing the field here until maybe his senior season, and I wouldnt be so sure that he won't just be a backup for his entire career here..that's just a waste of w scholarship if you ask me. I trust O and his staff to make the appropriate changes needed to be made in order to make room and sign the best players for our team needs. Geaux Tigers

Max Johnson's team is 8-1 this year, 3-0 in region play (they were 6-5 last season, 2-2 in region play)
Finley's team is 5-4 this year, 4-2 in region play (they were 2-8 last season, 0-7 in region play)
I would say that's elevated

Unfortunately, it seems like a lot of people have already made their minds up on these guys

His arm doesn't "hop out" to you, but might be the strongest in the country. It "hops out" to everyone else who has ever watched this kid play football
The kid can rip it. ELITE arm strength. And it appears, from the pocket when he sets his feet, that he is an excellent passer. He doesn't get that chance often on his current team.
247's eval:
quote:
Enormous QB prospect with elite height. Built similarly to a big tight end. Pro-style pocket passer with an arm that matches the size. Unafraid to take shots down the field. Drives the ball vertically with power. Whips the ball out with ease. Fires it with zip in the short to intermediate passing game. Shows impressive touch in the red zone on corner and timing routes. Big-framed, big-armed pro-style QB with raw tools and high ceiling.
quote:
Offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger liked the arm strength the 6-foot-6, 225-pounder possessed
quote:
“Finley had a fantastic showing on the 7on7 circuit, a big, strong-armed passer, good decision maker who is accurate when he sets his feet,” said 247Sports national recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong. “The raw traits are there, as Finley effortlessly throws the ball to all levels of the field.
Elite 11 Finals Day Review and Breakthrough Players:
quote:
1: TJ Finley, Committed to LSU (#9 PRO-QB)
The LSU commit was hyper aggressive and was the most willing to take shots, decisively driving the ball into tight windows. No player had more touchdowns or highlight throws during the red zone session. Finley has the strongest arm in Frisco and was able to showcase his high-level velocity throughout his session. He got going by hitting an impressive back shoulder fade down the right sideline for a touchdown and followed that up with a rollout touchdown and a post across the middle. Though he had a misfire or two, Finley impressed with his willingness to let it rip without hesitation. Sunday was a setting that worked to the big pocket passer's strengths — working from a stationary position and letting his arm talent take precedence. While we'd still like to see more from him in terms of movement and consistency over a large sample, Finley showed his considerable arm talent and nice upside. - Charles Power

I think both teams have winning records this year, in large part due to their QBs.

You're getting downvoted, but I took this as a positive comment

It actually was meant to be a positive comment. Seems sarcastic but it is actually a really good stat. People don’t realize how bad their teams actually are

I know his team and coaches are below average, which is being kind, but I want a QB that dominates in High school. Look at Burrow, Mr. Football in Ohio. If you can't dominate in high school then.... how are you supposed to dominate in college. I want a QB that can take over a game, win or lose
I agree with this, but don't forget about Lindsay Scott. GREAT HS qb but cant find a good spot in college.
