I am happy about our 2 QB commits. Yes, both are projects, but we likely won’t need either to contribute until year 3

If we are going to process one of the qbs for this class it has to be Finley.
Though I do agree with this, it isn't something I want LSU to do. I like both players, but Johnson is more college ready right now. He has had daily tutelage from a former NFL QB, tutelage that cannot be overemphasized. It's one thing to posses the physical abilities to play QB in college, it's another to posses the mental acuity to play the position. Given the fact Johnson has had a former NFL QB teaching him the game of football since he could walk (I don't know this for a fact, but I'd imagine he was) he knows a lot more, or should know a lot more, about the position than Finley.
Regarding Finley:

his arm doesnt hop out at you.
IDK where you have seen him play or what videos you've seen, but Finley has an elite arm. So, no, I don't agree with this. Physically I think Finley is more college ready than Johnson. But Johnson isn't very far behind.
You know, in all honesty, especially with QB's, you really don't know what you have or what they can do until you get them on campus. Once you start working with these guys and start expecting them to read defenses in seconds, recognize blitzes in seconds, make the right reads and throws, you really don't know which ones will excel and which ones don't. I say Johnson because his dad is a former NFL QB. But who knows, he might not be able to read defenses as quick or accurate as Finley. You just won't now until they get in the system.
So I think it'd be in LSU's best interest to keep both.

If a QB is on a team and he is getting pressured by the defense within 2 seconds of the snap, do you really expect him to be successful? A QB depends on his oline keeping the defenders off him, he depends on receivers to get open and then catch the ball. You can stick Tom Brady on a piss poor HS offense and if his supporting cast can't get their job done how is he supposed to have good stats? You think receivers will suddenly get quicker, smarter, faster, you think the oline will just magically block better if Brady was the QB? The worst way to judge the talent and potential of a HS player is looking at the stats, the WORST way. Hell, the QB at Walker high is one of the leading passers in the state, stat-wise, and ain't no way in hades could he ever be a QB in the SEC. You judge players by how they play, not by their stats. Football is a TEAM game, that means that players depend on each other to do their job so the plays can be successful. One player doesn't do their job and the QB gets sacked, that's all it takes for the offense to fail, one player not doing their job. And no position on the field depends more on other players doing their job than the QB. If he drops back and there's 3 defenders about to hit him, just how is he supposed to throw the ball? And then, even if he did, his receiver isn't open, so then he throws an incompletion or interception. These are facts of the game you need to understand.

If not longer. As we also have to account for Peter Parrish's turn if he is worthy.
Meanwhile, if we get Caleb Williams, neither one of them may never ever see the field at LSU.
As there are far too many unknowns for anyone to guess today.
