This is how you build a fence around La.

It sounds counterintuitive, but This is might be the way to build a wall around Louisiana. It may not be evident this year, but maybe next year.

You can’t stop AL, UF and aTm from recruiting prospects, so you have to supplement that.

He’s not taking just anyone from CA, MD, VA, he is taking 4s & 5s they will make a hs coach tell a La recruit to take that Boys from the Boot offer. Last year he took Michigan and Tennessee players too.

Ed is telling recruits that The fence has a door, and it should only open inward.

It’s also telling in state kids to commit early instead of putting us off until the last week. Basically saying if you don’t want us then we’ll go find someone else to take your spot.

If someone like Jalen Lee has a committable offer, he may want to shut down the UF interest and go ahead and take the LSU offer.

I can understand Guilory and Roy taking their time, too. This isn’t about that......but could be.

If LSU was your favorite as the home team and we offer you, your HS coach May just tell the prospect to jump on the merry go round before it starts spinning too fast or they may take a equivalent talent that knows they want to be here.

I don’t care about a fence. If you are losing studs but getting studs it doesn’t matter.

In state kids need to quit playing us till signing day. I like Os approach.

Right now, N$ and Dodge Chargers are being out-recruited by our beloved shrimp boat captain.

Dabo and his hardware, and skins on the wall, are being out-recruited by our beloved shrimp boat captain.

Things will change before NSD, sure. Maybe for the better, maybe not. But if Brady truly is OCIW, and we give Bammer a good fight or beat them this year, then we're entering another golden era in LSU football with Woodward behind the scenes.

OP you are absolutely on point

Too many prospects have we held a spot for just because they were LA guys.

Jeez they still have 8/10 months left

I understand what your saying, but Guillory will commit in the next 45 days

This is also probably the biggest decision of there life’s

I don't care about a fence around LA. If we can recruit top talent from the entire country, then it opens up our options exponentially. Instead of all the top kids in LA expecting an LSU offer, they may hope and be excited when they get an LSU offer.

They have become entitled to an LSU offer use that "guarantee" as a back-up as they wait for that spot in other programs.

Bama uses the tactic of coming to LSU and taking talent we need just to keep us down. It's easy if we focus on LA for them to do that. They cannot take all of the needed talent that exists around the country.

I have zero respect for recruits “flipping” at the last minute.

It causes LSU to lose at least two players. The one that flipped and the one we didn’t go after.

Exactly

It is fine if you want to get out of Louisiana, but you should have some good will towards LSU and let them know early.

It is a big ol country, seeing a new part of it is not really a terrible thing for a lot of these kids.

I want to make sure I respond to you properly, here. To make sure you know that I am coming off as respectful to you because that’s what I am doing here.

I do care about a fence and it’s what Dinardo, then Saban, then miles and now o definitely want. And in order to get it, you have to let local prospects know that if LSU is their home
Team and they get an offer, to take it.

I also would rather have a three star Louisiana or even Mississippi than one from over say, 5 hours away. It used to be that mississippi prospects didn’t get all that much ink, of course with camps, Now they do.

Relying on guys from Tennessee, Maryland, Virginia and California isn’t always optimal every year.

I have no evidence to support it, but i THINK that out of state guys are more apt to transfer ( even though Scott & Cotton are but I think it may be anecdotal)

Parents don’t want to fly across three tjime zones, yet they want their son to play football. But theyd rather do it near home.

Keeping equivalent talent at home is key. They know the importance of not letting Arkansas taking even one game from you. They have seen the rivalry with auburn and with Florida up close.

Out of state guys might also. And I am not discounting their commitment. In fact, I am encouraging it......but in order to keep Louisiana prospects at home.

We will take what ever talent is the best, for sure. But I stare talent for any program is paramount.

The world is a smaller place for top recruits than it was just a decade ago

They travel all over for camps, they are going coast to coast. They know each other thru social media. With cell phones, social media, and all the other ways a player can stay connected I don’t think they mind leaving home.

I think licking dien La from surrounding states was a great concept when Saban did it. But the need has lessened thru the years

I can agree with all of that too.

Still want the Louisiana men to stay home. And we want them to win regardless.

Exactly...CEO is showing them, if you can't make up your mind and commit I will take someone else of equal talent that is ready to commit, the days of fricking around to the last minute so you can go on all these recruiting trips are over only to go somewhere else out of state when LSU held you a spot are over...that is exactly the message that needs to be hammered into these kids now...there is an early signing period now, shite or get off the pot!
