He has upside, but he seems more focused on playing TE or Basketball than playing OT. It would have been nice if he would have attended a camp somewhere to see how he does in one on ones but to my knowledge, he hasn't.

How about the Fr. five star OL from Fla. we picked up at the end (foot injury has keep him out) ? Solomon?

Solomon Thomas wanted to play for Alex Atkins. When FSU fired him, he went with Davis. Then LSU hired Atkins as the TE coach and now he's going to be calling plays for the next 4 games.

If Atkins and Davis aren't retained by the new coach, then Thomas might enter the portal.

Not sure if either Davis or atkins will be some hot commodity for other jobs though. Who at a big school hires an oline coach whos oline is bad, and same for a te coach whos tes have been bad. Thomas when gets healthy and can compete again, will be strong candidate for a starting job next yr.

100% agree. I hope it's enough to keep him here.

Alex Atkins is an OL coach. LSU hired him as a TE coach because that was the position that was open. Atkins is a good OL coach and a pretty good play caller, so I am interested to see how the net 4 games unfold.

Will be negligible

The replacement will be the tipping point to keep an eye on

I agree that it should be very minimal. Also, whoever we do bring here to replace Kelly, will most likely be bringing a few recruits with him.

Ironically BK was so hands off the recruiting that his leaving has minimal effects
