Texass insiders think they lead for everybody though. It's hard to take then seriously.
If Nahlin, Ketch, or Chip Brown are the one saying it, you can disregard it. If Gerry, Bobby Burton, or South say it, then it's probably accurate.

17/20 of the Top RBs on 247 are 200lbs or less

Christian Mccaffery was 200lbs at the NFL Combine

Bunch, this is why I hate comparing to outliers
These are the closest ht/wt/ workout-adjuster comps to mccaffery in the database I use

Some good college backs here. Very few from the SEC
But maybe they’ll hit on a CJ2K or Christian mccaffery

They just said a few weeks ago they were going to flip Dakorien Moore only for him to come out and say he’s 1000% committed to LSU. That doesn’t mean he won’t flip, but everyone should take what they say with a grain of salt.

Just so we're clear; Blake Corum, Will Shipley, Frank Gore Jr., Jawar Jordan & Cody Schrader are all gadget backs who were at the combine this year and had 1k yard seasons in college.

Im telling yall, Watch the tape. JT Lindsey is a better modern day running back and its not close to me. Simon lacks the explosiveness that Lindsey has in spades.
Can't both of them be great simultaneously?

If you dive into his family a little bit, they are not from Louisiana and he was not born and raised to root for LSU. Dad has been a college coach all over the place and his most recent stop was at Grambling before Mickey took over as HC.
I mean you can use that angle all you want but the kid told Scarborough flat out that he didn’t like that lsu took the Rb from ASH without even talking to him about it

They want Jordon Davison but seems like he is going to commit to OSU in the near future.
Simon is their backup for him as per Fong and they have "moved on" to him

So is 215lb RBs out of HS what's your point?

Body type matters, too.
205lbs holds different on a 5’7” guy (Corum/Schraeder/Gore) vs a 5’11” / 6’0” player.
If I have to have a small RB I’d rather them be short.
I didn’t say any of these guys are doomed. Just not the norm for SEC or LSU. They will have to be schemed around & wont be able to hold full workload & responsibilities
I’m not married to the prototype at all, either. I love an outlier mutant. Just looking at history & it’s a bit against guys built like WRs 5-11 190ish guys

I went to Texas for grad school so I follow them closely. Davison is asking for an absurd amount of money and the staff doesn't think he's worth it. I hope he goes to Ohio State

I’m also saying 185lb RBs are kind of a crap shoot
They haven’t even entered their senior year. They could easily put on 10-15lbs by the time they get to campus.

I guess you know more than LSU scouting then? Maybe they should hire you up so we can get some better recruits.

They could. The profile is just interesting & not one that lsu has had a ton of success with. Simon runs a bit differently & is not really replaceable with anyone in the state. You’d like to land him to keep a mix of profiles

- I mean I get what you're saying, and understand. But when it comes down to it, it doesn't matter if they discuss signing a kid with anyone. They don't have to check with James to be sure it won't hurt his wittle feelings. Simon could've committed at any time since he was offered a scholarship by LSU. He must not wanna be a Tiger THAT bad or he would've committed by now. Commit or else. LSU isnt waiting on a RB recruit lol esp a RB
The ONLY outlier I can see is a Bryce Underwood type who is a QB.

Yeah a kid choosing between lsu, bama, Texas, etc will traditionally take longer than a kid whose best offer is Pitt

You think if Simon and berry roles were reversed they wouldn’t have waited on berry or checked in with him before taking another rb?
