That’s a lot of money to win 8 games.

I know A&M has a lot of money but 30 mil a year sounds like it’s simply not sustainable.
Especially if you don’t win a championship. Donors aren’t going to pay that to not be in the playoffs almost every year.

Oil money stretches a long way

Depending on how the season goes for AM they might never spend that much money ever. If they go on to win 9 games 2 years straight those big time donors won’t be opening up their check books anymore. They spend this money to win championships, and if it doesn’t happen what is the point?
This could end very badly for AM.

Or not.
They could be the next coming of UGA or Bama.

It’s very hard to win a NC.
How good has UGA been for the last 5 years? And that hasn’t resulted in a NC.
Maybe this year they break through though.
Am wants to win and wants to win now. Are they willing to spend all this money over and over again if it doesn’t happen quickly?

It's been posted like 47 times on every board on this site, including the soccer board, and it's still not true.

My guess is their big money guys funding this effort are all in for 1 title and then they'll let off the gas. You can't tell me they're getting a return on the money they're promising.

They think their window is closing

College football will never be the same again. The NCAA sucks but there has to be some type of rules or this is NFL with no salary cap, everybody is a free agent. This is wild times. Also Hate to break anyone’s heart but A&M has enough rich boosters that $30 million from a pool of them is like my buddies and I raising $3000 a year to buy LSU players.Texas has the same type of money.

And they still won’t win. Embarrassing.

Can’t be sustained unless it’s somehow coming from the school. College football is a business, if the athletic program can generate enough revenue to pay it then it may work.
No business will continue to dole out that type of money for no return or no political gain. Or at least I wouldn’t think.???????

Money does not make you the next bama. Aggie has never won a thing so they are in win at all cost mode. Let them spend. It will end the same way jimbos tenure at Florida state ended. Jimbo is not nick saban. Neither is kirby. They will have a team full of me first mercs. Even more so than normal. Not all of those kids will stay. Give it time. Things will balance out.

Hope the players grab the money and leave a year later for more cash.

Well, they're 8&4 again now and they pussed out of their bowl game. I'm not sure they win even 8 next season, even with their newfound mercenary approach. All of those dudes will will be in the portal next year. They just wanted a paycheck, not barnyard sex "traditions"...

You would be surprised Darren Woods,Greg Garland, and a couple other Alumni make over $100 million a year just between them in salary every year. There is no telling how many millionaire alumni they have.I’m just glad we didn’t get Jimbo if you have to spend $30 million or more a year to even have a chance to be successful that says a lot about Jimbo
