Has anything surfaced as to why Berzon left in the first place? Would have obviously preferred her stay and be the #2 if Heavener keeps improving.

There's been a lot of talk on the other threads and sites. Where there's smoke, usually fire is near from my observations on this site.

[quote]I’d be willing to bet you haven’t seen her throw a single pitch [/quote
I haven’t. If you never saw Ohtani play but just looked at his numbers could you tell he was a good player?
If you never saw Nolan Ryan pitch could you tell if he was a good pitcher?
Baseball/softball numbers don’t lie.

Sam Landry wasn’t the dominant pitcher at UL that she is today with elite coaching, let’s see what Torina can do with her. On other sites it says she throws 70-73… that’s better than Berzon’s 63-65

Yet you argue against the obvious conclusion from her numbers.

Rocha (OU) is definitely one of the best pitching coaches in America. But we will see how she does. Like I said, solid addition, it’ll be a big help to Jayden if she can develop and contribute some
You likely aren’t going to get a NiJaree Canady caliber pitcher from the portal. Those are incredibly rare. We were fortunate when we landed Hoover originally early in Beth’s tenure here. You Have to identify talent with the tools and some success and try to develop them. That’ll be on Torina as she manages the pitching.
Berzon is a loss, no way to sugar coat it but hopefully Jayden can make that sophomore jump, Cece and the rest can provide some punch behind her. Most programs don’t have more than one ace tbh but you’ll definitely need a solid number 2 and a couple pitchers who can come in from the bullpen to give a different look or eat some innings

Seems like a solid pickup. Has a ton of experience and a good ERA. Not expecting her to come in and be a world beater in the SEC though.

Depends on who you believe. Some on this forum trying to label her negatively but that is contrary to what I've heard. We'll never know for sure.

Agree with your assessment Tigerbait357.
Pitching roster as of now looks like Heavener who is top end pitching followed by Clopton and now CeCe. Freshmen class has 3 pitchers in it (Deal, Mowery, and Soeken). That's 6 arms on roster. Unless they carry 7 this may be the full battery for next year.

I could be way wrong but feels like the 2025 class is going to Beth’s weakest on paper in awhile?

For softball and the conference she played in, her numbers are not that good. Very average.

Her walkout music when she strides out to the mound should be C C Rider.

Miss St SS just announced transfer to LSU, good get!!
Posted on 5/27/25 at 1:07 pm to Casualobserver1985
Sam Landry also has an elite defense behind her when pitching and an elite offensive at the plate as well!

I'm guessing she will play 3b.
Posted on 5/27/25 at 1:28 pm to TigerDCC11
SS is my uneducated guess, you don’t go get a SEC SS to move to 3rd base…Hodge played 2nd at OU, my guess she moves to 2nd or maybe 3rd
