Sounds like he just needs to learn route running. If he works on his routes and understanding of the defense really well then he'll be able to get the separation

Wait so clean isn’t an LSU fan? What team are you a fan of then clean

I’m a fan of individual players
Dylan Moses is at the top
But I don’t watch much college football. High school sports pay my bills.

Hilton is a better all around receiver with superior quickness off the line and athleticism (speed and vertical).
Thomas is taller and bigger. In my opinion Hilton is the best receiving prospect in America but was hurt for almost half the season last year before he was very good at the end after returning to the lineup.
Thomas isn't a slot guy. Hilton can play either and plays it as well as most college players already, screens, outs, slants, fades in the red zone, etc.. complete package. He just needs more weight and he will get it as his father is a big old boy himself.
I personally want both Hilton and Thomas to go along with our current commit. Bech would be a great addition too as we need about 4 receivers in this class in my opinion.

I’m not here because I want to curry anybody’s favor.
I want to discuss players, not myself.

Didn’t realize you weren’t a LSU fan. What school are you a fan of?

Clean
I just realized who Bech's skills remind me of and that would be Ed McCaffrey during his years on the Broncos. His ability to adjust, go get the ball and blocking is the spitting image of EddyMac. Neither were/are elite athletes, but there are a lot of elite athletes who cant catch the fricking ball or take hits. Physicality and toughness will always be the most important part of football.
There are 40 times and football speed of which Bech has the latter as evidenced by him running past people on punt returns. To me separation is not a huge deal because coaching technique and route running will help that dramatically.
Bech is a kid that LSU will regret not signing if he ends up elsewhere.

I’ve seen the kid play multiple times. Their stadium is minutes from my house and he’s got some natural talent. He stands out on the field at every game I’ve seen and he’s going to get better and imo he needs to get better to garner offers from LSU and the like. He’s a great HS player but I’m just not sure if he would hold up in college against elite competition?
I would love for STM to let him run all types of short area routes to see what he does. The games I’ve seen him play, he was simply much better and more determined than the guy defending him. He’s tough and will give up his body at anytime but that’s what worries me, he could end up injured but he is who he is and I wouldn’t change a thing.
As for his speed, I saw plenty of speed but it’s his agility and quickness in the short area that needs to improve. Now he can work on this and that’s what I think he needs to work on as well as getting just a little bigger in the upper body. He’s currently ripped but I think the thickness will come with age and a college strength program so I wouldn’t be concerned with that.
Overall at this point I think he’s a good WR but not elite. He’s an elite HS WR for sure. Most elite college guys are toying with their HS competition. Bech looks like he giving it his all every play. That isn’t a bad thing. Love this kid and I hope he ends up at LSU but he’s going to have to work for it, listen to the people who are giving him advise on what he can improve upon to play at a place like LSU and work to get better in those areas, which aren’t many.
Imo if he works on those Jamar Chase drills he could be very similar to Jamar Chase. Chase wasn’t this elite speedy WR and still isn’t but his short area quickness, footwork, route running, hand strength and upper body strength doesn’t get better. I see a lot of the same type of things with this guy but he needs to work on those feet and quick change of direction in short areas. He does that and he’ll get all the separation he could ever want and be a top 15 WR in his class. I think he’ll get better this year and tbh he’s going to need to do so for the bigger colleges to come knocking. I mean maybe he still get into a big SEC college because they have room for him at the end or miss on someone but imo he can improve to where he’s wanted by all SEC teams no matter the circumstances. I think he has that type of potential. If he wants to be the best then he must work the drills that will help his weaknesses and put himself out there in the camps to prove his worth against the best in front of all the cameras and analysts. That’s part of moving up in the rankings.

WR class is so stacked. Gonna be interesting to see how it shakes out.

He’s a nasty blocker as well
That's the one thing the STM coaches always point out. Savoie says he's consistently the best blocker on the field. It doesn't make highlight films or stand out to the casual fan, but coaches and scouts see it.

So you say Bech needs to improve his short area quickness and you say Chase has Elite short area quickness which helps make up for the lack of long speed. I don't see how they are similar at all.
Chase has ELITE explosiveness adn Bech most certainly does not.
That is not to say Bech isn't good in his own right, I just think the Chase comparison is not a good one.
Landry is a much better comp cuz Landry won with toughness, route running and incredible hands which is what Bechs skillset seems to cater to.

Agree. Looks more like an ATH to me than strictly a P5 WR prospect
So many good WRs in the state this year with better measurables and athletic upside
I think his ball skills and physicality (from what you can tell on a quick video) would make him an interesting S or even OLB prospect. His frame looks like he'll be a really thick kid in college. Reminds you of Jacoby a little with his frame and the way he moves

Reminds me of John diarse. Thick upper body, might not be the best athlete but has a good feel for the game.
Posted on 2/21/20 at 11:43 am to Lester Earl
Solid comp, coaches like Saban recruited Diarse as a Safety if I recall
The Beck kid definitely runs like Jacoby. Upright with more of a duck-footed gait

Doesn’t look like LSU’s receivers. The LSU staff will probably offer him a walkon opportunity.
