So the rumor is that Tulane's Patrick Jenkins is the target DT from the portal

Would make sense and he has always been the name at the forefront. Sure seems like someone is a done deal the way things have been communicated. Jenkins is by far the most named guy in the speculation.

I think he’s a definite take. He had a really good career at Tulane and had 5.5 sacks, 20 solo, and 1 forced fumble last season.
He might not be a starter but would make a nice rotational piece.

Not to derail, but any word on adding any RBs. They cannot go into the season with 3 scholarship RBs, can they?

Probably add a RB with uncertainty of Holly status
Diggs is likely missing majority of season at Ole Miss with his injury
Tre Bradford might have been better off sticking around but that guy can't stay anywhere long term
DT Jenkins committed to LSU and Coach O but ended up at TCU before going to Tulane
I believe that was when Coach O tried to go all in on some other top DT and Jenkins was pushed aside
Have no idea what his playing time was at TCU but he was active in the Tulane games I saw him in

Dude dominated Ole miss. He’s the real deal and would change our Dline.

I would say when looking at the roster, Holly doesn't exist (until he does).
So you have 3 scholarship RBs, and only 2 for now until the summer.
There's no chance you can go into an SEC season with 3 RBs. You probably need at least 5 bodies at a minimum.

Ehret has been good for LSU

Get him and Bidi and we a lot better there

That's great because now the guys that we were trying out currently here we can be more selective to keep less players out of their natural position.

There’s a 5th year guy from Texas that would be a good 1 year fix

Would be a no brainer to me, and I think he would likely start next to Guillory.
We need interior guys that can make plays behind the LOS and he can do that.

Jenkins balled out against USC and Ole Miss while at Tulane. If we land Jenkins and Blidi our DT issues are fixed for 2024.

Yeah, I'd be shocked if he didn't start.

Lester Earl said he’s not that good and Lester is pretty tuned in to Nola sports

All I know is each time I watched Tulane this year he jumped out with his penetration and pressure. I'd love it.
