Yeah I think having Peoples will make up for any deficiencies Williams might have

How many times have we seen relationships fail beat NIL?

I am not worried. He is a NFL pro Bowler who went here. he can sell LSU well enough for the NIL to take over.

You don't recruit players anymore. You show them a path to the NFL through development, and then you pay them.

And nobody on here will believe that if a kid likes LSU or USC and someone is really really close with Kyle Williams they won't pick USC if they offer 500K more.

In my humble opinion Bo Davis was a proven asset that we had to over pay for. I don't believe Kyle Williams is a risk with regard to coaching, and the extra cash will give him more opportunity to buy players he feels match what he wants on LSU DL.

Underwhelming hire. He has no experience as a college coach

Imagine being an LSU fan and upon hearing that we had just hired Kyle Williams as our DT coach this is the response it elicits. When you ask your wife who is going to be at the party you're getting ready for this is the guy you say "c'mon babe not that a-hole".

Everywhere he has been, Kyle has proven himself to be a persevering and motivational leader. There is no doubt he can teach technique. He maximized his talent by mastering the craft. The only question is name recognition in recruiting. Something tells me he has the sincerity and tireless dedication to excel there too. I’m optimistic.

In a vacuum, maybe. But the revolving door at DL has to fricking stop. BK went out any paid top dollar to get one of the best coaches in the game here and he’s gone in a year to the NFL. We need someone who is going to stay here for a while, and if this works, a former player is far more likely to do that.

We also have the advantage of pairing Williams with a very successful and experienced DE coach in Peoples. He’s isn’t going to be out there on an island. He’s going to have someone ideal to mentor him in this role. I would be a lot less optimistic about the chances of this working well if this wasn’t the case.

He has the know how for sure. He has shown that he can be a leader of men as well. He also has shown that he knows how to motivate people around him and get the best out of them. I like the hire alot.

According to the rant, his coaching ability directly correlates to how much emotion he shows on the sideline. So watch for that

Like I said:

No. 1 prospect’s LSU commitment ‘reinforced’ after meeting Kyle Williams

03/17/2025
By Matt Moscona

BATON ROUGE, La. – The nation’s top defensive lineman remains firmly committed to LSU after Bo Davis left the Tigers last month.

Richard Anderson and Brice Brown, his head coach at Edna Karr, recently spent two days in Baton Rouge on an unofficial visit. The time spent with new defensive line coach Kyle Williams was both “eye opening and refreshing,” Brown told LouisianaSports.net.
Anderson is a 6-foot-3, 335 pound four-star defensive tackle. He’s rated as the No. 1 player at his position in the country and the third best player in Louisiana for 2026 in the On3 Composite. Anderson has been committed to LSU since June of last year, but when Davis left for the New Orleans Saints, it seemingly opened the door for the elite prospect to look at other options.

Brown acknowledged other schools have been pressing since Davis’s departure. Williams has seemingly stonewalled that pursuit.
“Kyle was great,” Brown said. “Very personable, confident and very knowledgeable. I think he will do great for LSU.”
Brown added that the visit “reinforced Richard’s commitment to LSU.” According to On3, Anderson has not visited another college campus since his June commitment to the Tigers.
LSU currently has six commitments for the 2026 cycle. On3 ranks the class third nationally and tops in the SEC.

Not agreeing with either one of you, but sheesh 2 weeks to respond and this is the best you can do?

To be clear I’m teasing - just thought it was funny to see a response to a sh** name calling post posted 2 weeks ago. Also mind blowing that their only contribution is to call someone a dumbass.
