Phillips is not coming here. He has not visited the campus and he has NO MORE OFFICIALS to take.
In the linked article he doesn't even know if he is going to take an unofficial visit to campus.

If he visits unofficially with family then LSU has a great shot.
Why stir up stuff with OU...a program he obviously likes and has a spot with by publicly announcing he plans on tripping to or flipping to LSU.
Kid is just playing it smart. He hasn't even visited LSU yet. If he makes the trip and sees and hears what he needs to feel comfortable he "may" flip.
If he sticks with OU then the LSU coaches will be open for criticism by going all in for Moses and Allen when they likely could have had Phillips earlier in the process.
We shall see. I prefer to see how it plays out first.

Held spots for Moses and Allen, then had to scramble. Need to hedge our bets better going forward. Lesson learned.

I think Ignont coming out and saying he's 110% locked into Tennessee means we are trying to keep it wide open for Gay and that we feel like he's gonna come. That's how I see it
We'll try to get Phillips to visit and try to make sure we lock down Gay

It's truly amazing how horrible some folks can be at reading people because what I saw was unequivocal excitement everytime LSU was involved in the conversation, same with Chassion and Wilson. IMO Cam Akers made a mistake but that is probably attributed to negative recruiting by Jimbo. They have this year to do it bc after that the truth will be out in full view lol. LSU needs to play these top teams ASAP to let everyone know that we are one of these top teams. Yes we face Bama every year but they have our number for some reason so maybe facing a different opponent like Michigan, Ohio state, Clemson, Florida State, Oklahoma, USC, another big name considered a top team would surely clear the air unequivocally, no doubt. I mean I guess a bowl game could do that also so we need to have a great season this coming season to accomplish this ASAP. O has some work to do but I thin he will do it. Bama just needs to be beaten really. Ha ha
