I've seen patients after having Levophed (considered a last resort IV infusion to maintain an efficient blood pressure) lose appendages because the body is shunting blood away from the periphery (arms & legs) via blood vessel constriction and directing it towards the center of the body (heart/lungs/brains) with the idea that you can live without your limbs but not without your vital organs. But I've only seen toes and fingers that turned black due to prolonged vasoconstriction and have to be amputated, not whole limbs. It's a powerful/dangerous drug that needs intense/critical monitoring during infusion.

Yes the damage is permanent. I can still move my arms and legs and my arms are cut off at the elbows one leg below the knee the other is above the knee. Thank you guys for all the well wishes. I will be OK.Thanks again and God bless you all

Levophed was one of the drugs mentioned. They had at least 5 other cases,1died.
