They haven’t lost any of the big names that were mentioned during the mass exodus. Being in an Aggie family it’s best to not give them the attention believe me

Big names or not you can’t win and compete in the SEC without depth and losing the amount of players they are can cripple you in November. Look how much LSU wore down at the end of the year, it’s just hard with little or no depth.

They need a big recruiting / transfer class coming in to offset the losses.

They are super thin at CB. Let’s see if Tony Grimes ends up there.

That's horrible.

I love it.

Can't help but wonder if THIS will be the cause of transfer rule rollbacks... not us playing a bowl game with 39 scholarship players... but this.

We should take full advantage if we can in the meantime.

Good money into a bad product, when is enough? The big money folks know how much this has failed, to lose over 40 players, LSU knows what this can do to a roster. Jimbo is no Kelly, he won’t be able to rebuild as fast as Kelly did. Right now, is Jimbo hanging on to coaches, trying to save this class, only to restructure his staff. We will see. A lot going on behind the scenes.

The LSU win was big for them, but an overall look, a really bad season. A major failure. Even what Kelly walked into, he had by far a better season. Something to build on, Jimbo is trying to keep things together. Not an easy job.

A loss of 40+ players, has kids wondering why, is that where they want to be? Can aTm develop players like Kelly? Kelly’s track record is known, he develops players. He has a vision, kids understand where Kelly and his staff are headed.

Follow Kelly’s resume, building at every stop.

Thanks. I do have a number of friends that played, graduated and coached there.
I know I’m one of the few, but I do pull for them in most games.

I concur. I already have a few comeback lines ready for when I see my Aggie family this Christmas.

1. Jimbo deserves a raise and an extension!

2. Great effort in the LSU game. Hope to see it in your bowl game.

3. The third largest city in Texas right now is the A&M transfer portal.

Yep and there is a huge difference from inheriting a situation like Brian Kelly did vs creating your own disaster the way Jimbo did.

When you lose 26 to the Portal and another 12-14 to being Draft eligible to try to minimize a combined loss of 40 or so from a roster it doesn’t matter that most of the 2021 class (currently 3 have left) is returning (and we don’t know that yet) or not. Jimbo has created a situation that is obviously toxic and denying this fact is simply “Whistling past the Graveyard”.

Jimbo started all of this when he urged his boosters to go full retard and buy a bunch of highly ranked kids that had no interest in A&M otherwise. Then, he clapped back at Saban like a petulant child and put a massive target on his back. After an absolute disaster of a season, he’s #1 on the hot seat and there’s not a close 2nd. It’ll be interesting to see how they finish recruiting and in the portal.

Jimbo is on pace to make LSU's 2020 season with the player losses look tame.

Let's say they have 14 Grads and SR's leaving d2 eligibility
Then add another 8 to the NFL draft
I doubt everyone will leave but 26 and counting in the portal

Worst case that's 48 players Jimbo will have to replace and so far it looks like he's more focused on keeping what he had rather than adding to it.

Then on 247 he only has 13 commits. So 13/48 right now. they might have a worse collapse than Ole Miss did this season.

I'm just curious if Jimbo makes this hole worse and pretty much nails his coffin or at least navigates out of this depth hell that he created.

Yeah I’m still waiting on that 2022 class that everyone was saying would fall apart. Still, you have to have depth. You can have the greatest first team, but if you have no depth, you aren’t contending for titles(LSU this year was an exception)

Given their depth situation they probably won't let it fall apart too much but as of now they've had 4 highly talented guys from that class enter the transfer portal with another 4 star talent that would have been important depth.

5 star Denver Harris
5 star Chris Marshall
4 star Smoke Bouie
4 star PJ Williams
4 star Ish Harris

Now, to be fair to A&M most of these guys had issues here or there (PJ Williams with a serious legal issue) and didn't play much but they could have played a major role going forward otherwise and at the least it's a major loss of depth.

Most of the guys transferring out from A&M right now are leaving because they got passed by the 2022 class recruits.

You can't win big without depth though

Having to bring in 40 new players at one time takes a toll on a program. You miss out on the core foundation of building from within.

It can be done well, but you don’t have the leadership throughout the team to rely on as you acclimate freshmen and transfers.

Having to bring in 40 players, kind of sounds like LSU when Kelly got here.
