If we had a top safety ready to commit this wouldn't be so bad.
Coach O is chasing tail at the L.. this motherfricker cannot sustain success

Nothing good... Saban selling him on the fact Bo sucks as a DC and won’t even be here, and doubts CCR/Busch will stick much longer. I could be wrong here, but I’m expecting a Trick not a Treat on Halloween
So the same angle Saban has been selling kids he’s battled LSU over for years. It’s the same way they hooked Pat Surtain

That angle is silly, because Bama is struggling defensively as well.. and even if LSU did fire Bo they would likely correct it with a better coach. You commit to the school.
You'd think beating Bama and winning a title would help keep Louisiana top talent at home. Especially a position that LSU has no issue at cranking out to the NFL.
This would be extremely disappointing.

I was told by numerous people on this board that the year after winning a national title was when a program saw the benefits in regards to recruiting.
i remember many posters on this site echoing the same message and just laughed, they don’t know shite
i never believed it, in fact i think it’s bullshite just as much as believing that selling early playing time will attract the best recruits
if he’s being this quiet about it he’s gone imo...he knows there will be bad blood if he mentions bama, he’s smart

Kids don’t care man. In this case, Sage is basically saying screw my family relationship at LSU. I would have thought this kid would be the last one in the class to spurn the tigers. Bama’s secondary development has been their biggest issue in recent years. There’s just not a way to spin this that could make you say he’s choosing bama for legitimate reasons.

Not gonna lie. This one hurts badly. LSU simply cannot compete with Bama going forward like this. These recruits are not only huge on the field, but they are important to recruiting. Losing top instate talent like this to Bama year in year out is starting to set a trend that will cripple LSU for years to come.

Ole miss and State routinely beat out LSU and Bama for top Mississippi kids despite not being able to promise a Winning program
In the 2021 class, Mississippi currently has 5 top 300 recruits. None are committed to MSU or Ole Miss. Only one is uncommitted. #1 is committed to LSU. #4 is committed to Bama.
Louisiana currently has 10 top 300 recruits. 2 are committed to LSU. 6 are uncommitted.
In the 2020 class, Mississippi had 5 top 300 recruits. 2 (40%) went to MSU, 3 left the state.
Louisiana had 11 top 300 recruits. 4 (36%) went to LSU (including 3 of the top 4) and 7 went out of state.
In the 2019 class, Mississippi had 13 top 300 recruits. 4 (31%) went to MSU, 3 (23%) went to Ole Miss, and 4 left the state.
Louisiana had 15 top 300 recruits. 8 (53%) went to LSU.
When you add in the fact that LSU and Bama are recruiting nationally better than MSU or Ole Miss (meaning those schools NEED those top in state guys more) I’m not convinced your comparison really holds water.

Vol to be honest what you said sounds like you made it up. I highly doubt Saban is telling any recruit that their DC sucks when his does too. It doesn't make any sense. And why would he say BP won't be here. Who's to say the defense doesn't turn things around? Saban doesn't know that. Hell he probably wont even be Bama's head coach in 4 years. You think that's a selling point for the country's #1 safety?

I'm not ready to call this a done deal to Bama.
-Ryan could potentially start here as a FR
-He's from LA
-He's blood with Faulk
-Last year's Jim Thorpe winner was a Tiger safety (Delpit)
-Bo can sell him on being the right fit for the new D

This is about more than just losing a couple of top in-state recruits. This is about losing them to our biggest divisional rival. For years, many of us cracked this up to the fact that LSU was losing in the field to Bama. The theory was that LSU was just a step behind Bama in recruiting and that we would catch up once we beat them on the field. Well, LSU beat Bama at Bama and had one of the greatest season in CFB last season, but we are still hearing that 5-star talent from Louisiana wants to to leave the state for Alabama because they want to "do their own thing" or "make their own way" or the like. If this is the case, then there is simply nothing LSU can do to catch up with Bama.

I don't see us losing him that easy. With our record of d-back studs in the NFL, there is so no way he is leaving. Sage has playing time next year basically guaranteed as well.
Get Jamal Adams to call this kid. He'd stay

Moms want their sons to succeed.
When they see the D getting torched every play and have an offer from the greatest CFB coach/ Defensive Coach of all time that means something.

Dandy Don (Scott) is predicting Alabama, but I can't see Kevin Faulk letting this happen Let's wait and see.

quote:O definitely is not kicking Bama's arse wherever they go. His words after the Bama game are going to come back to haunt him. Saban will have a hard on for fricking with O for now on. Beating his arse on the field and in recruiting just as O boasted he would.
Thought so too... Now look at us

I’d love to see Ryan sign with LSU but if chooses Bama, not gonna lose sleep over it. I remember a few years ago when Monroe safety Hootie Jones signed with Bama and LSU got Jamal Adam’s. I think we could do alright with Langlois if Ryan leaves.

To be honest the greatest defensive coach has the most recent legacy of getting torched by Clemson in the NCG, having to outscore opponents last season and giving their worst defensive performance in history this season vs Ole Miss.
Bama is no longer the standard bearer of a great defensive team.

Hootie was never on the level of Sage Ryan. Ryan is damn near a can't miss stud.
