with that, he is personal friends with someone at UT who is quote "very connected."

He told me about Terry being in Austin house shopping several days ago.

I thought he was pulling my chain at first, because the Terry is house hunting rumor is sort of 10 year running joke on TD. LOL

She wasn't there to look at vacation homes according to him (UT guy)

For the record I met a former UT player a week and a half ago that told me the same thing. I said I'd believe it when I see it. With Saban, who the frick knows what that little shite is going to do. The main reason I don't just write Saban to UT off as utter nonsense though is because I ask myself "where would Terry Saban prefer to live?" We'll see...

It doesn't matter if they get Saban. UT feels the SEC is unworthy of them.

If its true, then he'll wait till after signing day and bolt or he'll try to get those 4 and 5 star players to follow him. Bama must not be a challenge anymore. Maybe the ego is fully inflated.

Well on thing is clear here. He definitely likes the Austin area if he's looking for vacation homes. No one would buy a vacation home in That shite hole called Tuscaloosa

Like people here say when they are freaking out about a recruit:

Not confirming or denying but strictly ftr....he has a vacation home already on a lake in Ga that is 10x more attractive than any lake house in Tx and that lake is sort of a dump with the water recession issues

Playing Devils Advocate though the man is 62 unless he REALLY is that full of himself to start over again. If he is then Bama will still be Bama after he is gone. Saban did not build our program to what it is historically and the job would be extremely enticing for any HC I just hope if it happens in the next couple yrs and Kirby is on staff he will get a serious look because I think he is primed and ready for the job.

As far as recruiting goes LSU would be absolutely positively fricked in Texas and he would likely keep pulling guys from La as well if he was the HC in Austin, not sure if the regents would agree to let him try and join the SEC though...they are a finicky bunch over there.

I would hate it but I would thank him for all he has done for our program and wish him well

You don't lose the best HC in modern college history and stay the same just because you're bama. You have to make the perfect hire.

The perfect hire is hard to find, due to the NFL. Saban was the exception. Most coaches have their sights set on the NFL

I didn't mean there won't be an immediate impact...there obviously would

I still think if after the season he bolts, Kirby would be the best option that's jmo though

why you so mad?

I do appear mad, and am. While it has been a while ago, that saga, and the reaction on this board were embarrassing.

The people that said those things acted in such a selfish/short-term way.

Now that Saban MAY leave (let's say he does) and, like many of you say: recruits read this board, then the Admins should have whacked every vitriolic thread about CR immediately. It made us look very bad.

And every time someone spoke up about letting CR (or any La. star, for that matter) pick where he wants to go, the vocal minority got so pissed and acted like CR is property of the state of La....all the while, doing the opposite of what they wanted for LSU, longterm.

We want EVERY La. star to come to LSU, but to act that way and not have the entire thread cut, is beyond me. You can't control what these little kids on here, say, but you can certainly censor it. Hell, a lot of threads get whacked for less.

Have you seen every lake house in Tx?

Depends on who you hire. You're Bama because of Bear and Nick...2 of the greatest college football coaches ever.

Probably true, but at least we wouldn't have to play him every year.

This rumor is meaningless to recruits. The meaningful thing is if he actually goes. I would expect their class to, if not fall apart, definitely lose some members.
