Talks about how Dave and Meatball visiting with Sopsher’s dad during the weekend’s 2A championship did a lot in terms of impressing Sopsher’s dad and the race is closer than most think for his commitment. LINK

I swear the majority of this board wants him to go to bama just so they can say "I told you so" and pretend to have sources

Glad to see the coaches go all in. You cant lose out on a guy of his talent instate AND lose out on them to Bama. Double whammy.

Take Rodney who very well could show up and work his tail off and be playing next to him.

Believe me I’m not. Ish personally has done nothing to show interest in the program so I’m not buying it for a second.

He’s visited LSU more than any school in the country. Don’t let my facts get in your way though.

Not trying to be a dick but why wasn’t Orgeron at the Dome with Aranda? Shouldn’t he be spearheading this recruitment?

Does Alabama HAVE to take the brother in order to sign Ishmael? If not, then I think that tells you all you need to know as to where he wants to be. However, IF his signature is a "two for one" deal, then we know Bama isn't giving the brother a scholarship and there would be no reason he won't sign with LSU.

Make Farrel hit the nail on the head

quote:

“Alabama is right there. You can’t count them out at at all especially for big-time kids in Louisiana. They do such a great job recruiting that state. I always thought Sopsher would end up going to LSU, but the fan base and a lot of people don’t think he’s going to choose LSU and he’s going to go to Alabama. That’s because they’re a little triggered by Nick Saban and they’re used to losing some big-time recruiting battles. "This one is really close. The job they did recruiting him and sitting with the family will probably go a long way and this one will come down to a 50-50 decision between the two.”

More telling he hasn’t had a documented UO visit since June and has had 2 with UA recently. He however does seem to have a really strong bond with his brother and I think that’s a big advantage we have working for us

Idk you only take his brother if we swing and miss on a lot of guys. If LSU can land Ika and jaren handy then who fricking cares if his brother wants a spot

I don't think so...we've just seen this too many times. The majority hope we are wrong.

Ika and Jaren Handy or Pickering or Stripling or Moore would be fantastic.

the first response to a positive article was to shoot it down. The number of threads trying to down play the kids abilities is off the charts. It’s ridiculous.

Does anyone know if Alabama was even in attendance for his game?

You don’t need sources. Just pay attention to his recruitment. It SCREAMS Bama. It’s your normal LSU vs Bama “down to the wire” bullshite for an instate kid who is already moved into his dorm in Tuscaloosa. It’s just for attention and the normal late surge for Bama making them look like excellent closers. In reality this one has been over.

I'd love for Sopsher to go to LSU. I don't think he is worth giving up a scholarship to his brother though, but at least it would be a recruiting victory for LSU in their battle with bama for top La. talent. It's been my opinion that he is all bama. I mean, when he shunned a visit to LSU for the UGA game to go see bama play Missouri, that was a pretty big sign of where he was leaning. Maybe the coaches have made up ground, IDK, but from what I've seen, and I do not have any sources, he is all bama. IDK how many times he has visited LSU, but I know he has been to bama on several unofficial visits. Like I said, I'd love if he went to LSU, it would be ecstatic, but I've seen quite a few who were on the fence and went to bama.

He came to two of our practices in the same week about a month ago.
