Hopefully all the testing completed by LSU and Arkansas tomorrow comes back good.

Excited for the first meet.

I do hope letting Emma go won't end up being a mistake - just don't want to give Wieber any more of a leg up in recruiting than she may already get on her own by virtue of scoring a big name recruit like Emma (merely because LSU passed on her). I know Emma's gymnastics were not that impressive in the last few years and that's why she ultimately was not offered a scholarship...but the publicity that Mary Lou Retton gets is insane.

I am curious about the first meet - which event will be our best, do you think? I think it might be beam - I am still worried about our vaulting situation and the potential lack of 10.0 starts to be competitive. That being said, while LSU has gotten a lot of hate in the "gymternet" since 101 I actually thought they looked pretty well prepared. I think this season has the potential to be great!

Just as an aside, I can't for the life of me understand why all these people love to hate LSU so much.

It’s so easy to hate in a top team, especially when we challenge for the title every year and haven’t quite hit the peak of NCAA gymnastics

I’m hearing that Georgia is targeting Selena Harris. Still hoping that LSU offers her.

Depends if Caitlin Smiths scholarship opens up

That said there is contact with a couple other 2022 kids right now. It’s weird that they stopped talking to Selena for a while

The gymnternerds have a huge left leaning adgenda and a ton of bias. It comes through in everything they do, say, and print. You would swear that LSU was the devil if you took everything they say at face value. The amount of mask shaming after 101 was ridiculous. They fail to realize that if you have been tested multiple times in a week and are negative, you don't magically contract it and pass it to others who are also tested multiple times per week

The only issue that LSU gym has has is when people have gotten outside their circle and contacted others. like going home for Thanksgiving.

They also tried to turn Reagan's illness into Covid when Jay clearly stated that it was not Covid. Hell they even bitched about calling Bob at home because he was quarantined.

The amount of testing that night require to even step foot on the floor that night was huge. Of course then they got on the fans because little kids were dancing around in their seats un masked.

They are ridiculous

The thing with the old recruiting rules was that you could offer really young kids who you barely know. There was no way to determine how these kids would turn out or what injuries they would sustain. I think that’s the case with both Caitlin Smith and Kaytlyn Johnson. I doubt Kaytlyn ever competes for LSU because of all the injuries she has had. And knowing that she’s from Texas Dreams (Nightmares) kinda worries me given the history of injuries with their athletes.

Also, does anyone know how long it takes for your account to be set up once you join Tigers Spotters? I joined the Saturday after Thanksgiving but haven’t gotten a confirmation email.

I would contact Katie directly. We had that situation last year; contacted Katie and she followed up and took care of it immediately.

Did you join from the online site, or mail it in?

If you did it online you should have gotten an auto-genrated email from LSU almost immediately

I’m so excited about the start of the season, and I can’t wait to watch the meet. Unfortunately, I’ll be watching from home this season. This surely wasn’t how I envisioned the 2021 season. January to April has been my favorite time for the past several years. But we decided to forego our season tickets this year. Maybe I can get the vaccine soon and be able to get postseason tix!

I find the top 2 the most interesting. I am very curious to see what 3 of those teams will look like this year (Bama should be good with what they have). Mizzou will really miss Hu this year and Kentucky will miss Molly, but I am most curious about Georgia. I'm wondering if Courtney can finally prove she is a head coach.

I’m really looking forward to seeing Victoria Nyugen for Georgia and Shania Adams for Bama. Both are rumored to do the AA this season, with Adams being the early leader for FOTY. Although Haleigh Bryant should have a lot to say about that. Bama has looked especially strong on vault, bars, and floor in the videos I’ve seen.

I’m looking forward to seeing if Makarri Doggette and Luisa Blanco are in the AA this year. Also curious to see if Emma Kelley makes line ups at Arkhansas. Can’t wait for tomorrow!!

It will be interesting to see if anyone new can get into Session II at the SECs. I don't see it happening this year, I still think it's FL, LSU, Bama and GA in the night session. Shania Adams is going to be huge for Bama, but past that, I worry about their depth. Almost like us last year, one or two injuries and they can be in serious trouble.

Just curious.....
Of the 5 SEC schools that do not have a gymnastics program (Texas A&M, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Mississippi State), who would you be most excited about if one were to add collegiate gymnastics?
