Even with the NIL do you think she’ll still go to Auburn? Since she won the all around there may be bigger opportunities for her now.

Why not? She can now profit off her name, image and likeness, all while getting a full ride to college. If the new rules weren’t there then it may be a different story but I think she goes personally

I wouldn’t be surprised if she goes late (starts on January) and takes time to decompress, maybe go on simones tour if that’s still happening

I know when Ruby came to LSU. She took some time off and let her work at her own pace during the fall. They eased her going into freshmen year. I guess it depends on how Suni feels and what she is up for. Her body will definitely appreciate college training verses elite

Uggh we are going to have a TIME with Auburn these next few years. hope Jay gets the girls ready - the SEC wasn't easy, but with this next class of elites and how spread out they are, its going to be a fight to get into the night session.

If LSU can’t get into the night session with the talent they have, there is a MAJOR problem.

Auburn will be significantly improved with Sunisa but it’s still a team sport. She can’t do it by herself.

Even with Derrian graduating in two years, they’ll still be decently great with Olivia Greaves now coming in

Also her personal coach is the twin brother of Jeff Graba so she’s known him since she was 6. I doubt she’s going to miss out on going to NCAA out of loyalty to the Graba brothers but also because with the exception of Konnor McClain and Olivia Greaves who graduate in a couple years, all of Suni’s closest friends in elite are either currently in NCAA or will be starting next season. I doubt she’ll want to miss out on the opportunity to compete with/against them in the same conference for almost everyone

Suni can make money, the issue will be time. There will be so much demand for her to constantly be doing something, appearing somewhere, etc. She only has so much time to capitalize on this moment. I’m not her but I would defer a year and do all the appearances I could. She mentioned joining Simone’s tour but she can’t get paid for it because that would be paying for doing gymnastics. However, they could pay her quite a bit to sign autographs or whatever and make up for the income that way. It would be tough to jump right into college in a few weeks.

Simone officially out of vault and bars. Not surprising. If she does any final it would only be beam, at this point.

Skinner takes home a silver medal!

Glad she got an opportunity. Crazy that you can finish so high in qualifications but get knocked out for the two per country rule!

I know she is not everyone’s cup of tea, but truly happy for Skinner. Now I just hope Jade can get that floor exercise medal!

Oh my bad

OU has great gym programs (guys and girls). Not many men’s programs in general unfortunately and I saw a couple programs dissolved during the pandemic.

Not excited about the women’s team heading our way but I’m hoping we can bring back a men’s gymnastics program at LSU if there is sufficient funding for it

It’s not a funding issue. It’s a Title IX head count. LSU had to eliminate men’s gymnastics and wrestling to balance the numbers of women athletes since football has a large roster.
