I truly hate thinking how good this team would be if kiya was healthy. Alyona, Aleah, kiya, Bryant combo on All around would have been nasty. Then add the other girls showing up weekly. I genuinely hope everyone comes back next season

Yes, with Kiya they would be even more dangerous. But this group reminds me of the 2005 Georgia team. Not really picked to win Sec’s or nationals that year. They lost so many meets and injuries hit them. We actually beat that squad for the first time in years during the regular season. This is a fighting group but they have always been a talented group. Injuries are apart of the sport but confident ladies brings out the best gymnastics . If I wanted to be picky, they need to ditch the switch half on beam, Alyona and Elena need to be replaced with a Cowen and a healthy Dunne on bars. We need one more strong floor worker imo. Aleah is a beast and so happy to see her flourishing in this environment. I love Kj’s new beam combo. Once she finds that landing and settle down, that’s a 9.9 routine to help the back end of the lineup. Keep climbing Tigers.

I hate that kiya got hurt but love that it made the coaches change some things finally! I think if kiya hadn’t gotten hurt we would never have seen chase on vault, kj might not have gotten beam routine changed. Also think the injury really changed the team dynamics and pushed them to be better and fight harder.

I mentioned in game thread last night but I wonder what the chances of getting someone like Ellie Lazzari to transfer are. She was such a good aa her freshman year and it’s so sad to see her only in beam now. I can’t see why these girls keep going to Florida to be waiting in lineups. Riley, Morgan, Ellie. All beautiful gymnasts sitting behind girls like Payton richards(nothing against her) when they would be in aa at most other schools. Does Jenny have some sort of mind control to make these girls come to Florida?

Do coaches go out and try to recruit girls to transfer? Or is it usually the girls reaching out to other schools when they want to transfer?

I don’t think coaches can contact the girls.

Missouri just took down Auburn with a 197.45 to 196.55. I've always felt that meets at Kentucky and Missouri have strange outcomes for the visiting team.

Kentucky gets over scored more than any other team at home IMO. Never seen a team be so good at home but is just meh on the road. Auburn's score was so low tonight because they rested Suni and Derrian, I think.

Suni did beam but fell which was uncharacteristic for her!

From an NQS standpoint, I want us to get into a better position - because we would be in a regional of death at this point with OK and AL (and I think Denver?).

Also, one point on routine construction - has anyone noticed the arial at the end of Alyona's routine right before her dismount? That thing is always wonky and she almost always has a rather significant balance check (that probably is not being deducted enough for, in general). I imagine she has to have it for one reason or another - but perhaps they can drill it this week so that she can be steadier on it (as it is certainly a skill she is capable of doing). I just think that could take her to another level there.

I am not sure if this has been previously addressed on this thread, but I am just curious for Kiya and Kai, do both of them technically have 2 years of eligibility left each? 1 for COVID year and then 1 each for redshirting due to injury?

Kiya has two years (redshirt and COVID). I’m not sure about Kai, did she sit out a full season? Regardless she has her COVID year. I don’t have any insider knowledge but given her injuries it’s hard to imagine her prolonging her gymnastics career. Alyona seems more likely to come back than Kai IMO.

Kiya was nominated for the AAI award. Trinity very likely to win it.

It looks like Kylie Coen has competed just one meet in two years, and none so far this season. Does anyone know what's going on with her? That seems drastic for a level 10

She has injuries so I hear. I hope we aren't going to have injured commits coming in every year. This has plagued LSU for a number of years. It leaves us without enough depth.

5th years should not be eligible for AAI. Period. Trinity should also have an asterisk next to her name when she gets the record for 10s in a career. No one else had 5 full years to get them.
