Todd is going to try his hand at linebacker as well he should. Lost some speed and bulked up too much after his surgery to play DB.

I like that idea and wish him well in that endeavor.

I don’t think Harris will be playing much.

I wonder how much zone coverage they will play.

Max Johnson doesn't stand a chance against these guys.

I hope he starts against us. Our defense will be foaming at the mouth

This secondary is far more imposing/ physical than the previous year. All of these transfers are big.

Lots of playing experience. Now the coaching staff has to put them together in a system they all understand, practice as a group, trust each other and play as a team. This is what O could not do the last two years, he let his superstars sit out practice way too much and they never came together as a team. Aranda could do it but O could not. I think having Kelly here makes all this happen properly.

Between Burns, Toles, Davis, Ryan and potentially Matthews joining the fray, that's a lot of talented individuals at safety and not all can see the field.

Does anyone think Langlois can make the move to Corner? Maybe Ryan?

Why does everyone quit forgetting Davis and Toles.

Our S and Nickel corps are as stacked as I’ve ever seen. I’m still a little iffy at outside CB.

Harris was legit before his injury! That injury really took it out of him. I like the idea of him trying his hand at LB!

We may not have the elite secondary, but there is more depth. A player takes a snap or two off, can be replaced .

He might can transition to LB from a physical standpoint, but he'll have to learn how to tackle.

At the end of the day, he was just a true freshman and probably wasnt ready. I expect him to see the field more this season after a solid offseason under his belt.

Isn’t safety one of the more difficult positions on defense from a mental standpoint? Or am I making that up.

I’ve always thought safety (FS in particular) was the type of position where you really need to know every other player’s assignment on a given call.. making it more difficult for a young player to climb the depth chart. But maybe I’m full of shite and it’s not that hard.

There are two corners in the portal right now from Louisiana that sure would add depth:

- Eric Reed
- Devin Bush

Worth mentioning this other defensive lineman from Louisiana in the portal from USC-W as well:

- Ishmael Sopsher

concerned at how little Davis played this past year when we weren't exactly loaded at safety.

Had more to do with not understanding what to do at all times. He’s very talented. Just needs to learn his responsibilities and he should get on the field more this year.
