Kelly is going to fricking crush it here. The rest of the conference damn well ought to be nervous.

Those four guys and Ward as your five starters will make for a goodly number of turnovers. They're going to know a whole lot about how to fool QB's, how to break on the ball, how to strip a ballcarrier and so on.

Should be a very technically proficient secondary, and that matters.

Also, you have two VERY physical corners who can play press man behind what should be a strong pass rush. The pass defense could be extremely salty.

But the question is 2023. Because it's extremely likely you could lose all five guys to the league.

So how good is the secondary when it's Jones-Welch-Ryan-Matthews-Burns in 2023? Can those guys hold up their end?

Add in a veteran like Todd Harris as well and this secondary is indeed very formidable. With the defensive line that we will field and if the LBer corp can hold their own this defense has the potential to be very good!

Tod Harris is not good at football, but thankfully Sage Ryan is.

I’m not worried about 2023, CBK has already proven he knows how to fill holes on the roster where he sees fit. Pretty sure we are able to get back to the 85 man roster next year as well so that should give us a lot more numbers to play around with

Todd Harris is not good, he will barely see the field.

I think it's fair to say that Derrick Davis has a chance to live up to hid 5-star potential as well. This guy was the #2 safety behind Ryan in the ranking out of HS iirc

Derrick Davis was a 4* and the 4th ranked safety behind Sage Ryan being a 5* and the 2nd ranked safety in that class.

Regardless, I agree with him having the potential to be in the mix as well for a starting spot. At the end of the day, there's not a huge difference in being the #2 and #4 ranked in your position. Theyre both excellent, Davis just seems to be forgotten about on TD.

Let Todd Harris be totally healed plus getting good coaching and he might should the top 5 safety out of high school talent rating was justified.

I'm concerned at how little Davis played this past year when we weren't exactly loaded at safety.

At the end of the day, he was just a true freshman and probably wasnt ready. I expect him to see the field more this season after a solid offseason under his belt.

Todd is going to try his hand at linebacker as well he should. Lost some speed and bulked up too much after his surgery to play DB.
