Quad Brown vs Peter Parrish- Flashback Class of 2019 QB

I remember as a lurker how awesome the Quad Brown story was until it got trainwrecked with the Coach J stuff or whatever. Kind of interesting to look back now and see how the Quad kid is doing vs Who LSU ultimately decided on.
Seems like the Quad kid is doing pretty good in spite of whatever it was that happened.

Brown is listed as the starter this year after spring. No stats and RS Sophomore.
Good for him.
Peter Parish is listed a backup to Grant Gunnel. That name sounds familiar.

Looks like Ole Quad as a R-Freshman last season threw for 2,278 and 17ds and rushed for 301 and 7 tds. Finished Top 25 in yards in the CFB.
Anyone able to find stats on Peter? I couldn't. Interesting that both Gunnel and Parrish are at Memphis. College Football recruiting is an in exact science for sure.
Interesting to see if Ole Quad ends up in the NFL after all. Kids got 3 more years to grow. Interesting stuff!

Yeah he’s been pretty good at Georgia State

3 more years to go too. Will be interesting to see his growth this year

Happy for Quad. I do believe it was one of his coaches on here trying to get some traction for him. Looks like it worked out. Good luck to him.

Yea not sure what happened with all that. Hindsight being what it is it seemed like a guy trying to get his guy into LSU and ultimately it looks like the kid is going to turn put to be pretty good. Obviously it's Georgia St and not LSU, but it's awesome to see these undervalued kids having some success.

Quad’s game and athleticism reminds me of Randall Cunningham. Transcends perfectly for the Sun Belt.

Peter parish sucks and should have never been given a scholarship.

When Quad went to GSU, there were a lot of people on here that were pretty hard on those that thought LSU should take a shot.
I still think he would have been a good take as a 2nd QB. He would have been a project certainly, but he had a decent upside and more importantly he seemed like the kind of guy that would stay here 4 years, work hard, and wait for his shot. We might consider giving that strong desire to be at LSU a little more weight in the future. We keep fighting for the creme-de-la-creme, but if they aren't playing, they disappear in a hurry. Having an extra QB a little lower down the food chain that is willing to stay for 4 years might be a good investment every couple of years. It would be nice to have Quad right now with only 2 QBs left on the roster.
Good luck to the young man.

He's doing alright at Ga State. Nothing spectacular yet but last year was only his 2nd year in college and did secure the starting job which is notable. Not sure he's an upper tier power 5 QB (saw him play a couple times last year) but Ga State was a great landing spot for him and he'll have a nice career there. May even contemplate a transfer to a P5 team in need at some point in his career.

He simply wasn't SEC material at that point and wasn't rated well after camps.
I'm not personally knocking him, but defensive talent overall in his conference is not on the same planet as the SEC. His stats would NOT transcend to the SEC.
I'm happy for any young man that works and gets better. Good for him.
We had an injury and a couple of transfers out....but our qb room was full last year, and the year before with solid talent and projects.

LSU was in desperate need for a QB in 2019. The guy returning had only completed 57% of his passes in 2018 and thrown only 16 touchdowns in 13 games. If only they had found one who knows what might have happened that year.

Yea I'd say that Burrow guy worked out pretty good lol

I agree he probably wasn't ready for an SEC offer outside of the Vanderbilt one he had. Although had he gone to Vandy he would have likely not had the opportunity to develop like he has at GSU. This season will be interesting to see what jump he makes in his development as a second year starter.

There’s something to be said for going to a school on your level.
Had Peter Parrish gone to A G5 or FCS school, he would probably be much better off now.

Coach J had the board convinced he was the truth

GSU seems to be a good fit for him.
There is no way to know: (1) whether he would have stayed at LSU if he had been offered, and (2) whether he would add anything to LSU's QB room other than someone breathing O2.
